Trustfell 4: Trust Fall or Die Hard ([personal profile] trustwellness) wrote in [community profile] trusthell2017-01-22 12:35 am

Welcome.

You wake with the unshakable feeling that you shouldn't be here.

Perhaps you were in the middle of something, perhaps you weren't. Either way, you're waking up in an unfamiliar location with no recollection of how you got here. The room you've woken up in is sparsely-decorated, though that might be difficult to tell at first given how nice the beds are...but eventually you'll notice a few things that are a little...off. Maybe the scent is striking you wrong - it's clean, but it's not yours. Maybe your bed back home doesn't support your back in quite this way. Maybe you should be seeing sunlight through your window by now.

Maybe you should have a window in the first place.

This isn't right, but leaving the room won't give you any more answers. You might want to grab the silver key sitting on your trunk on the way out.

Don't worry though, you aren't all alone here. Once you step outside your room into the hallway, you'll notice that a few others are emerging from their rooms as well. It looks like they're just as confused and concerned as you are. Feel free to talk to them, but none of you know how exactly you wound up here and maybe some useful information can be found by exploring.

If you follow the hallway to its end (and it's a very long hallway), you'll eventually arrive in the foyer. You'll find some very interesting information about yourselves on the wall near the clock. Perhaps even more importantly, if you look on the other side of the multi-pendulumed thing, you'll find other framed information that you might want to pay attention to. It could very well be the key to escaping this strange place, after all. Don't worry if you forget the rules, you can find them in every room of the building.

Of course, search as you might, you won't find a doorway or a window of any sort. Getting out won't be so easy, it seems.

But who knows? Perhaps your fellow captives have something to say about all of this.

Welcome to Chronos University.

[If he had seen her from the front, Watanuki would not have acted so rashly. But from behind, Chiyuki looked just enough like Yuuko that Watanuki mistook her for his unscrupulous boss.]

Yuuko! Just what is going on here, huh? I have school today, I can't just skip it to go on these jobs with you!

[If he sounds annoyed, that's because he is.]

[ ...Look, don't go shouting names at her or in her general direction, she already has no idea what her name is!!

As it is, the yell just makes her look at the profiles and... no, there's no Yuuko here, uh—

she'll turn to him, hi?? ]

There's no Yuuko here, sorry. [ she sounds like a troublesome woman though, whoever she is. ]
foundfate: (waving you off)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-22 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
[It's not until he sees her face that he realizes the mistake he made. The annoyed look he has quickly turns to one stuck somewhere between 'embarrassed' and 'apologetic', and the salty tone he had a moment ago is gone by the time he speaks again.]

Aaaaah, you're not her! I'm sorry, from behind you looked just like my boss.

[Well. Not exactly like her. There's definitely some differences, now that he thinks about it.]

It's okay.

[ She doesn't get it often or anything but—no hard feelings! ]

She sounds like she's a handful though. Does she usually just take you with her on jobs without any warning?
foundfate: (you are strange)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-22 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
Way. Too. Often.

[Often enough for him to be tired over it, at the very least.]

But if she were here, her name would be up there too, just like the rest of ours. So she might not be involved this time.

[ Poor guy. ]

Unless she's... [ ...the Wordsmith, that's exactly how she was going to finish that, but, uh—she's waving her hand a little. ] Never mind, that's wrong of me to say.
foundfate: (uncomfortable laugh)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-22 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Unless she's the one who brought us all here, you mean?

[Sorry Chiyuki, he got that meaning.]

It's alright, I thought about that too. But these rules here, they're not anything she would set up. She definitely wouldn't tell us to go kill each other, she's very against murder.

[personal profile] stepout 2017-01-22 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
They're nothing that anyone I'd know would set up either.

[ This is... basically encouraging it, theirs don't really encourage it so much as mention. it. ]

...Trying to figure this out is just giving me more questions than answers. [ ESPECIALLY THESE THINGS... ugh. ] Is all your stuff right on yours, by the way? There's some things I'm not sure about on mine.
foundfate: (talk and tea)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-22 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Watanuki looks up to his profile to confirm it, but he already knows his answer.]

The age and job are wrong, but everything else is right.

[personal profile] stepout 2017-01-23 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ ...But the job is a legitimate job, huh. ]

What's a "wish-granter" do anyway? ...Don't say grant wishes. [ That's exactly what it says— ] How does that work?
foundfate: (sigh)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-23 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
It's more like giving advice than actually doing any magic stuff. Yuuko just always called it 'wish-granting' because people like to believe that spirits and stuff are helping them out. Sort of like how people spend tons of money on fortune-telling, but ultimately don't learn anything they didn't already know.

[Technically it's true, but only sometimes. Other times, magic most definitely is involved.]

[personal profile] stepout 2017-01-24 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ...well. ] Does she charge a lot, or is it pretty low?

[ this is important, because she's either a con-artist or not. ]
foundfate: (thinking)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-25 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know how she figures it out, but it always seems like just the right price for the wish. Never too much, never too little.

Like, for example, one time someone wished to not be tied down by the relationship she had with her twin sister. So the price she had to pay was to cut her hair. Which worked out in the end, because once she had shorter hair it was much easier to tell them apart, and she started to form her own identity instead of being 'one of the twins'.
stepout: (09. combination spin)

[personal profile] stepout 2017-01-25 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ...the price was her hair. less con-artisty than first imagined. ]

She basically got her to individualize herself by saying the price was her hair, huh? ...That's pretty smart. [ ... ] What do you think she'd say about our situation?
foundfate: (what was that again?)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-25 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
She would say something about how fate brought us all here, and how we needed to understand each other in order to get out of here. Which is silly, of course, but it's what she would say.

[Watanuki doesn't need the support of others to escape here, though cooperation might make it easier.]
stepout: (09. combination spin)

[personal profile] stepout 2017-01-26 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
It does sound pretty silly. [ ... ] I guess its silliness depends on if she's right most of the time or not.
foundfate: (>:T)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-26 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
She's been right every time that I have seen, at the very least. Nothing has surprised her yet.
stepout: (14. quadruple lutz)

[personal profile] stepout 2017-01-26 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Then maybe she'll be right this time, even if you're saying it for her.

[ .................. ]

I don't think it's going to be easy though.
foundfate: (sigh)

[personal profile] foundfate 2017-01-26 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Probably not, but I don't think we have much of a choice here. Especially if whoever is holding us here has a lot of power and influence. For all we know, there could be a thousand soldiers waiting outside, to escort us back in if we do find a way out.
stepout: (14. quadruple lutz)

[personal profile] stepout 2017-01-26 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
A thousand soldiers is a little overkill, but they probably have something to keep us here. It wouldn't be much of an "indefinite" stay if they didn't.
