WEEK 1.

WEEK 1

Now that you've had a chance to yell at the Wordsmith, one thing is very clear. He wasn't lying. There's no escape from this place. You can explore all you like, but there aren't any ways to leave. It seems like there isn't much to do but settle in and get to know your fellow Apprentices. You're free to go wherever you'd like for the most part, but come 10PM the doors to the kitchen and the mail room will shut and lock and nothing you can do will get them to open.

While you might be tempted to sleep in, you'll find that the clock in the foyer goes off every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM without fail. You'll be able to hear it no matter where you are; it seems it's being broadcast over the PA system. You're welcome to go back to sleep after you hear it, but surely you don't want to spend the whole day in bed?

(Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.)

APPRENTICES REMAINING: 30

[OOC: Welcome to week one of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]
officerhops: (I always get up now to see what's next)

afternoon

[Judy's been in the library most of the day, but now she's starting to wrap up her writings and is about ready to send something off to the Wordsmith. Heading back to the kitchen for a carrot to munch on ends with her being surprised by Vanille...on the floor with a bunch of candy.

She peers around the edge of the door at her curiously with a bunch of papers underneath one arm.]

What'cha got there?
ravagers: (seasalt-works11)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-26 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Bunch of candies! All different sorts. There are some flavors I've never even imagined before. [ She holds up a bag of carrot-shaped gummies. ] They don't taste like carrots, but they're close enough, right?
officerhops: (I'll keep on making)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-26 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Not even close, actually. Regardless, Judy peers at the carrot gummy and holds out a paw.]

Mind if I try one? I'll be the judge of that.
ravagers: (nascent requiem)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-26 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Go for it!

[ She opens the bag and pulls one out to hand it over. ]
officerhops: ('Til I reach the end)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-26 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Judy inspects the candy for a moment more before popping it into her mouth.

What flavor are we talking?]
ravagers: (prelude)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-26 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
[ It's orange! Weird, huh. ]
officerhops: (I messed up tonight)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-26 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[So weird.]

Oh, that's good! Where did you find these?
ravagers: (an arrow through time)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Mm-hmm, I thought so too! [ She gestures to the cupboards behind them. ] In there! There're all different types.

How about, if I find anymore, I'll save 'em all for you.
officerhops: (for you)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you don't have to do that, really...but thank you.

[That's cute, actually. Carrot gummies...]

Haven't had candy like this since I was a kid. Mom and dad try to keep it out of the house since we've got so many little ones running around...you can tell where that might go bad quickly.
ravagers: (4)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I know I don't have to, but I want to. So! You're welcome!

[ She sets the gummies aside, then picks up some chocolates. ]

I guess I can, yeah! We didn't give the kiddos back in Oerba sweet stuff, 'cause we found out really quick they'd turn into absolute monsters. [ She giggles. ] How many little ones, exactly?
officerhops: (I'll keep on making)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
275.

[You know.

Cause they're rabbits.]
ravagers: (hanging edge)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ whoa. ]

275 brothers and sisters, all running off sugar... I can see how that'd be disastrous!
officerhops: (No I won't leave)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooh yeah. That's why it's only vegetables and greens in my household. Maybe a sweet once or twice a year on the holidays, but that's usually the time everyone battens down the hatches anyway.

[She says this as she leans back on her heels, watching Vanille pick through the rest of the candy.]
ravagers: (the thirteenth day)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... [ She nods. ] Sweets are good and all, but veggies and greens are way tastier. I wonder if your little siblings agree?
officerhops: (Sometimes we come last)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes they do! Us rabbits are pretty predisposed to love things like that, anyway. Especially carrots.
ravagers: (crash landing)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Carrots are really yummy! I like 'em best when they're cooked up with onions and potatoes, though, but raw's good too.
officerhops: (those new mistakes)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, so do I! We have a lot of fresh vegetables like that; my mom and dad run a carrot farm, but they grow a lot more than just carrots.
ravagers: (an arrow through time)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, fresh veggies every day! What other stuff do they grow?
officerhops: (they fall down and get up)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes...and fruits like blueberries, blackberries, strawberries...if you can think of it, we've probably tried growing it at least once.
ravagers: (4)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-30 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Wow... You must have a pretty big piece of land, huh!
