WEEK 1.

WEEK 1

Now that you've had a chance to yell at the Wordsmith, one thing is very clear. He wasn't lying. There's no escape from this place. You can explore all you like, but there aren't any ways to leave. It seems like there isn't much to do but settle in and get to know your fellow Apprentices. You're free to go wherever you'd like for the most part, but come 10PM the doors to the kitchen and the mail room will shut and lock and nothing you can do will get them to open.

While you might be tempted to sleep in, you'll find that the clock in the foyer goes off every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM without fail. You'll be able to hear it no matter where you are; it seems it's being broadcast over the PA system. You're welcome to go back to sleep after you hear it, but surely you don't want to spend the whole day in bed?

(Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.)

[OOC: Welcome to week one of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

Anything in particular you're looking for?

[Phi hasn't been in here quite long enough to know exactly where everything is, but she can help.]
ravagers: (memories of happier days)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-26 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... not really. I figure I'll find something I'll like if I look hard enough, though.
plentyfriendly: (phi$_)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-26 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Well, what are some things you like?

[Sure, she'll help look. Why not?]
ravagers: (start your engines)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-26 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
I like animals!
plentyfriendly: (phi$ vim decrease)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-26 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that's a start...

[...maybe this "Seaboat Fallen" one is not the best pick, if it's anything like that other one...]
ravagers: (memories of happier days)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-26 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Are there really that many books about animals?
plentyfriendly: and not as like a model viewer feature or something like that (phi$ query room.gif)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-26 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
There are books about just about everything.

[Phi just prefers hard sciences and the occasional science-fantasy.]
ravagers: (eidolons on parade)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-26 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Really? Usually the stories we tell back home are just passed down as spoken word. I didn't know a lot of people actually wrote down their stories!

[ She thought it was just a weird Cocoon Thing. ]
plentyfriendly: (phi$ throw exception)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-26 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oral tradition is still alive and well wherever you're from?

[That's a touch more shocking than never having heard of photography.]
ravagers: (taejin's tower)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yep! I mean, I know how to read and all, but it's way better to gather 'round a fire with family and tell stories.
plentyfriendly: (phi$ throw exception)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-27 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
I can't really say I prefer that.

[What with. Not having done it. Not for lack of fires, either...]
ravagers: (gospelle (3))

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
To each her own! I can see why you'd like books more, though... you can crack one open and read it whenever you'd like!
plentyfriendly: (phi$ man -k axiom)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-27 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well, as long as you carry it with you. And with no official checkout policy and a probable death awaiting if we break a rule, I'm not about to take chances.

[That sounded awfully blasé for death talk, though, didn't it?]
ravagers: (feast of betrayal)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ .... oh.

Nervous laughter. ]

So should we keep all these books in here, do you think...?
plentyfriendly: (phi$_)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-27 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
If someone's taken something out of here, it's probably safe to, but for now I'd say yes.

[Phi's room is near the entrance to the foyer, so she missed a few people doing exactly that.]
ravagers: (gospelle3)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ehe... Better safe than sorry, then!

[ Maybe she should call up the Wordsmith to make sure... ]
plentyfriendly: (phi$ man -k axiom)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-27 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[If she does, it might be a good idea to let everyone know.]

Anyway, I don't think we've actually talked. My name's Phi.

[I mean, maybe she remembers from the profiles, but it's just not done.]
ravagers: (wishes)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Nice to meetcha, Phi. I'm Vanille!

[ She pauses, tilting her head. ]

How've you been doing so far? Alright?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ show-hidden-processes)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-27 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
About as well as could be expected, really.

[It's. Not great. Not completely terrible, either, though.]
ravagers: (no way to live)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Mm, I know what you mean. But it seems to me everyone here is strong; if anyone can get out of this, it's us.
plentyfriendly: (phi$_)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-27 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I think so too.

[And this time there's no Obvious Mole.]
ravagers: (vanille's theme)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[ She offers Phi one of those smiles and nods. ]

Yep! So if most of us think like that, we'll be unstoppable!
plentyfriendly: (phi$ vim decrease)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-27 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
How long it might take would seem to be another thing entirely.

[We're already up to like two or three times the length of the Nonary Game: Ambidex Edition...]
ravagers: (prelude)

[personal profile] ravagers 2017-01-27 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Even if it takes a few weeks, it'll be worth it... But... I really hope it doesn't take that long.
plentyfriendly: (phi$ completed)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-01-27 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
So do I. I... kind of have something important to get back to.

[Not so important that she'd trade some random person's life for it, but... very important.]
