WEEK 1.

WEEK 1

Now that you've had a chance to yell at the Wordsmith, one thing is very clear. He wasn't lying. There's no escape from this place. You can explore all you like, but there aren't any ways to leave. It seems like there isn't much to do but settle in and get to know your fellow Apprentices. You're free to go wherever you'd like for the most part, but come 10PM the doors to the kitchen and the mail room will shut and lock and nothing you can do will get them to open.

While you might be tempted to sleep in, you'll find that the clock in the foyer goes off every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM without fail. You'll be able to hear it no matter where you are; it seems it's being broadcast over the PA system. You're welcome to go back to sleep after you hear it, but surely you don't want to spend the whole day in bed?

(Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.)

APPRENTICES REMAINING: 30

[OOC: Welcome to week one of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]
oyashiromama: so the sun wouldn't notice (the sea said goodbye to the sun)

[Sweets are cooking and Hanyuu can't help but investigate.]

Ohhh... Wonderful, I've never smelled anything like these.
modernmedicine: (all smiles)

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-01-26 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no chocolate chips? Well, they're -

[Ding! There goes the timer.]

I was going to say almost done, but there they are now. Once they've cooled for a minute, please help yourself.
oyashiromama: i will lead you through this wonderland (just grab a hold of my hand)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-01-26 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Impulse control around sweets, it's zero- no she is a dignified god

Hanyuu will wait the minute for them to cool.]

That's very kind of you... Did you make these for everyone?
modernmedicine: (hello up there)

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-01-27 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I did. I don't have nearly as much time to bake at home, so I thought I'd at least take advantage of the opportunity.
oyashiromama: are full of your stories (the books i keep by my bed)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-01-27 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
That's so very thoughtful of you. [...hm] But, aah, I hope it's a large batch, if that's the case.

[30 people.....]

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-01-27 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[She chuckles.]

No need to worry. I made a double batch - do you prefer going by Hanyuu, or...?
oyashiromama: arms around you (the seaweed that wrapped its)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-01-27 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that I do! ...Though, I'm not the only one with more than one designation. Your information, it said you also go by "Mercy," is that right?
modernmedicine: (Default)

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-01-27 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That's right. It's my call sign when I'm out in the field. Call signs are unique, and it's a lot easier.
oyashiromama: there's nothing we can do (now we're torn‚ torn‚ torn apart)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-01-27 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Call sign... So you're...a war doctor? [Her profile does say "field physician" but she didn't think literally-] My...
modernmedicine: (worried)

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-01-28 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
I am. My parents died in a war when I was a young girl. I promised myself that if I could, I would prevent that from happening to others.
oyashiromama: when i'm gone? (are you really gonna need me)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-01-28 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
...That's a respectable path to take. It's far from an easy one. I admire you, doctor.
modernmedicine: (focused)

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-01-29 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just doing what I felt was right. It's the only choice I could have made, given everything.
oyashiromama: while the young‚ they wait alone (sleep‚ sleep all night)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-01-29 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, you mustn't sell yourself short. It's not easy to immerse yourself in such a life.

[...are the cookies cool, she...might take one now.]

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-01-30 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Go for it.]

No, it isn't, but I do love my work.
oyashiromama: feels like a forest (the carpet on my cheek)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-01-31 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm happy to hear it. In a such a taxing position, you have to...

[Well, she'll just take one as she's talking and- oh my god-]

H-haaa...! These are delicious! [...small blush]
modernmedicine: (Default)

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-02-02 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Take care of yourself?

[OH NO how cute]

I'm glad you like them.
oyashiromama: (and they call me under)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-02-03 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Hanyuu "Adorable God" Furude]

It's been so long since I've tasted anything, I keep getting...aah, so very overwhelmed.
modernmedicine: (Default)

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-02-13 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[The cutest goddess ever.]

Why's that, if you don't mind my asking?
oyashiromama: (i'll see you when i fall asleep)

[personal profile] oyashiromama 2017-02-14 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, aah... I was a spirit for many centuries. I could only eat the offerings given to me, but even then...it doesn't quite have the same experience as eating for yourself.
modernmedicine: (peace and quiet)

[personal profile] modernmedicine 2017-02-14 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
I see. No, I don't imagine it would be anything close to the same thing.

[Centuries? That's far longer than she would have ever guessed.]
