WEEK 1 Now that you've had a chance to yell at the Wordsmith, one thing is very clear. He wasn't lying. There's no escape from this place. You can explore all you like, but there aren't any ways to leave. It seems like there isn't much to do but settle in and get to know your fellow Apprentices. You're free to go wherever you'd like for the most part, but come 10PM the doors to the kitchen and the mail room will shut and lock and nothing you can do will get them to open. While you might be tempted to sleep in, you'll find that the clock in the foyer goes off every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM without fail. You'll be able to hear it no matter where you are; it seems it's being broadcast over the PA system. You're welcome to go back to sleep after you hear it, but surely you don't want to spend the whole day in bed? (Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.) [Judy's been a bit of a busy bunny lately, moving back and forth between her room, the profiles, the library, and kitchen. She hardly seems to sit still other than to sleep at night, and right now she's back over to the profiles again to look things over for the hundredth time, probably. She's a bit surprised to see Hanyuu there, though...and even more surprised by what she's doing.]

Is everything alright, Hanyuu?

[oyashiromama]

Oh? Aah, Judy. [Wonderfully enough, Hanyuu looks up, looks around, and then thinks to look down after about ten seconds of confusion.]

It's alright, I'm... I'm simply taking another hard look at this information, after some days of thinking.

[officerhops]

I see...is there something there that's bothering you?

[You know...considering what you're doing.]

[oyashiromama]

[...]

The idea brought up at the meeting... The idea of us having missing time.

[officerhops]

Oh?

[Her ears droop, just a little.]

Yeah...that's been bothering me too.

[She looks over to her profile, then, noting what she's done to it.]

I don't suppose that has anything to do with it?

[oyashiromama]

Ah? [She glances to her name, and then shakes her head.] Oh, no, that's...just to make this all simpler, with everyone here. Best to have the name easier to say and that I prefer where everyone can see it, right?

[...and then glances down two lines...]

No, I... What worries me is the amount of time. I told you...I'm waiting for the birth of that child, yes?

[officerhops]

[Ah, right...that makes more sense, actually.]

Oh, yeah...I remember. Are you worried it might happen while you're here?

[oyashiromama]

No.... [She closes her eyes.] I'm worried...because of the missing one hundred years.

I fear the child is to be born, but it won't...have the power I've prayed for it to. [The baby that could be the only one to see her.] Because...if...she could, then I wouldn't continue to exist for a hundred years.

[officerhops]

...oh.

[Oh]

I'm sorry, Hanyuu. That's a pretty serious thing to be worried about. It's awful that the Wordsmith would have taken you away, especially during all of that.

[oyashiromama]

[A sad smile rises to her face.]

If...we are missing time, then it's not like he took me from waiting. I just think he did. Instead, it would be that I've long-since had that hope crushed.

[well this is why she's Cynical]

Aah... It's just been weighing on me, for the last few days.
