i'll wait, so show me why you're strong
[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.

Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.
After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

[Judy says quietly, her paws tapping lightly against the outside of her own mug of tea.]
Officers deal with stuff like this sometimes, but you shouldn't have to.

[ She looks into her mug of tea, and for a second she considers not telling her the truth. But... ]
I've seen some really terrible stuff... but nothing like that.

Yeah. It's hard not to think about it, even now that it's finally over.

Mm-hmm... I won't be forgetting it, for a while. [ She shakes her head. ] ... Thank you, for helpin' us out. It helped me a little bit.
no subject
Oh, it's no problem at all. I'm glad I could help, even just a little.
And...as much as the others will say different, I think we needed this. If we go around assuming everyone will do what Kyrie did, it's going to be that much harder to live. We need to try and stay together.

I think so, too... And I'm just talkin' for myself, but I don't like being alone much. And... I don't think I could be the only one.

I do understand some people wanting some time alone, though. But I'll get plenty of that when I sleep tonight.
[She won't sleep.]

[ She takes a sip of her tea. ]
And all the food helps, too.

[She's thankful there are so many good, willing cooks here.]
It's actually heartening to see all of this. It means that we're still trying to be some sort of unit, after all.

[There are some she's sure don't, without naming names.]

[ ... haha it's a funny joke and not at all how she feels ]

I don't think that will be necessary. I only arrest people who actually deserve it.

Where would you even put someone you arrested, here, anyway? The storage room?
