[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.

Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.

After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

[ She knows Sportacus isn't a fan of sugar, so she leaves briefly and comes back with a platter of carefully arranged vegetables and fruits. She sets it down between them as she takes a seat. ]

[ She hesitates, just... thinking for a while. ]

I'm a little better... Being with people makes it all a little easier. [ She shakes her head, though. ] But when I think too hard... it all feels real all over again.

It is real. [... wait shit that just sounds really depressing, wait] Now that everyone knows it's for real, this won't happen again. I am very sure of that.

[ She nods. ]

I think everyone's determined enough to make sure it doesn't. [ She nods. ] Not just us... but everyone has to be supportive and encouraging for everyone else, then. Right?

Exactly! [he smiles] We are in a lot of danger, but as long as we all work together and don't give in to what the Wordsmith wants, we will be safe!

[after all, the only real danger here is themselves.]

Do you think that's really all he wants? To see us hurt each other?

... Well. I can't think of anything else he could be getting out of this.

[ She doesn't say "that's awful," or anything along those lines; they both know it is. So instead... She sets her hands on her hips. ]

Well, he won't be getting any more amusement from this group! Not if we've got anything to say about it! [ She nods. ] 'Specially with a hero like you around.

[for a brief moment, his smile doesn't quite reach his eyes.]

I will not let you down. [like he let her down.] I promise.

[ ... hm.

Vanille reaches out, and if he'll let her, she takes his hands. ]

So long as you do your best, it'll be impossible to let anyone down. [ She nods. ] And I know you'll do your best. That's what makes you so super.

[he more than allows this. he will try not to crush her.]

Slightly above average. [but he truly smiles now.] It would be very unfair to Adelina if we did anything but our best. She might haunt us over it.

I don't want her to be disappointed in us... We can do something about that, at least, you're right.

[ She's glad to see that smile. Sportacus without a smile just seems... totally wrong. She gently shakes his hands. ]

[ She tilts her head a bit as she lets go of her hands. ]

Yeah? It's just what I think. Besides, with everyone being so amazing, it's pretty easy to make it sound like that.

Everyone here is amazing! This would all be much more difficult to go through without everyone here, and the friends I have made.

Of course! I just have to check first, because some people are uncomfortable with it. [more like with friendship in general but no that sounds less like a failure on his own part.]
