WEEK 2.

WEEK 2

Adelina and Kyrie Ushiromiya are dead.

Regardless of how you felt about them and whether or not you mourned their passing, life goes on. It seems the Wordsmith intends to make good on the rules he's left for you all.

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Either way, it seems there's nothing to do but move on - or, perhaps, move down. Another door in that holding area near the elevator seems to have opened up, leading into a corridor and a stairwell that seems to lead you somewhere beneath the dormitories, and eventually onto a new floor altogether.

Go ahead and explore all you like; after all, you did well at completing your lessons this past week.

APPRENTICES REMAINING: 28

[ Lalala, walking, minding her own business, holding a toy camera up to her face and taking pictures. It's only after she took a picture of the Cefable she noticed that wow, that's not a person.

... Admittedly she's not sure where to develop these photos but whatever, it's a pasttime to distract herself. Apparently not that interesting though because upon seeing those she throws the Camera on a nearby counter (that sounded like it hit a bit hard...) and says- ]

Oh, it's some of those Pokéy-mans, right?!
elepe: (SHOCK ❇ Mind repeating that slowly)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-02 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
[--You know, she's thankful that she's trying to steel herself a little more to surprise reactions. Or at the very least that the knife wasn't about to go down on her finger there.]

Yes, they are. These are my partners, Clefable and Lilligant. Dears, this is Ms. Marker. Say hello, if you would like.

[Lilligant will at least give Elda a wave, but Clefable toddles on over and stands in front of Elda with a smile. ...She's a little bit expectant, alright, all the other humans are super cool and friendly--]

It's Pokémon, however. They are not humans.

[...despite some Pokedex entries. She refuses to believe it.]

Same thing, same thing.

[ no it's not... ]
matchbreaker: (Degrassi)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-02 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
[ Oh man, what does this pink thing want...? Elda looks down at it, trying to comprehend this expectant face. Admittedly, it is cute, but it's also not the sort of cute that a real and proper vampire is going to like, right? So Elda reaches a long finger out to poke it in the curl of it's "hair" or whatever. ]

This one's the fable one, huh... it's cute.

[ She heard the explanation, but she's still not sure how they're that much different than weird animals. You can't just internalize something overnight. ]
elepe: (WAVE ❇ Take care and listen to adults!)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-02 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Even if it's just a poke, Clefable seems happy with that much! She bounces a little on her feet.]

Oh, yes. She's a rather darling thing, isn't she? Mysterious as well. It's rumored that her kind came from the moon, originally.
matchbreaker: (D J COLIN)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-02 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
The moon? No way, this little thing's one of those moonmen?!

[ Well, "little" - if her clefable's the standard 4'3, at Elda's 5' it's not really that much shorter than her. ... Which is mildly terrifying.

Oh well.

She laughs that off, waving a hand dismissively, but seems to be prompting Lusamine to tell her more ]
elepe: (OPEN ❇ I'll love you like a mother)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-02 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Clefable's of standard height, yep.]

So the rumor goes. The original rumor was that it's previous evolutions, Cleffa and Clefairy, are very rarely found except on nights of the full moon. Cleffa is even said to have landed on the earth from a meteorite, and that they are far more common when meteor showers happen. Those meteorites hold a strange power in them when they are examined, which is simply something that we accept to be a part of space itself.

It's not something the Cleffa can use at that time, but those stones have been shown to allow their evolution, Clefairy, to evolve into Clefable if exposed to them. There are many phenomenon and coincidences that certainly suggest that is is their home. And if nothing else, there is plenty of proof that they are not of our world.
matchbreaker: (Degrassi)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-02 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
[ Wow, that sure was a lot of science. Or at least a lot of story, something that Elda need to focus on in order to process. She sort of nods along with the explanation as if following it and - surprising herself - by the end it actually makes...

Sense?

Sort of? ]

Doesn't evolution take a jackbillion years or something?
elepe: (SHOCK ❇ Mind repeating that slowly)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-02 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps for environmental effect, but Pokemon evolve in just a few moments when they reach the proper strength or stimuli.

[Lusamine pauses for a moment, though.]

It's different then, where you come from?
matchbreaker: (Captain Marvel)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-02 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Like some animal turning into some other animal?

[ She brushes past the Clefable now, both to get closer to Lusamine and also to examine the flower thing ]

Frogs start out as tadpoles and the like and birds hatch from eggs, but I don't think that's the same of evolution happening from moon rocks.
elepe: (SHOCK ❇ Mind repeating that slowly)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-03 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly that.

[Lusamine does keep her eye on Elda, and Lilligant holds herself still.]

Well, yes, everything hatches from eggs. But it sounds like your animals and ours Pokemon are two completely different thing. It would be interesting to see them for myself...
matchbreaker: (She-Hulk!)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-04 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
... Everything doesn't come from eggs.
elepe: (SHOCK ❇ Mind repeating that slowly)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-05 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
[...what.]

...Is this another one of the differences between your world and mine? What on earth do they come from, then?
matchbreaker: (LOCK IT)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-05 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
Being... born...?

[ . . . ] Humans don't lay eggs for you guys, do they?
elepe: therefore I must love it (AWE ❇ It looks so feeble and cold)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-05 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
...So it's like a woman giving birth, then?

[...you know, surprisingly enough, that's. Not too scandalizing. If she told it to one of the boys that'd be the most horrifying thing on earth for them. But Lusamine doesn't look all that perturbed.]

I would not have thought. I'm so used to there being eggs for every single species...
matchbreaker: (Captain Marvel)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-05 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, like... [ She starts counting off on her fingers, ] Birds lay eggs, and so do frogs and ... [ Shit what's the word she's looking for? She can't think of "amphibians," moving on ] things like that, same for reptiles and fish. ... But fish and frog eggs are soft, whereas bird and reptile ones are hard.

But then mammals like dogs and cats and monkeys all just give live birth. So do humans and vampires.
elepe: (SHOCK ❇ Mind repeating that slowly)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-06 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
[...h u h.]

Well, I know about humans giving birth--we don't lay eggs, for the record. [Just. Clearing that up first.] But really, that is incredibly interesting. The Pokemon at home lay eggs with protective shells, that cradle the Pokemon inside until they hatch...

[...that's what the eggs are, basically. Pokemon cradles.]

What an unusual world you come from.
matchbreaker: (Wow cool...)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-06 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Not sure what's unusual about it. [ Seems very normal to her. still, brushing past Lusamine and Clefable, she makes her way to the grass type. she looks it over, and tires to reach out for the flower head ]

So even a Plant type [ She's so good with types, right...??? ] Like that one come from eggs?
Edited 2017-02-06 05:30 (UTC)
elepe: (LAUGH ❇ Dermatologist hate me!)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-07 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
The fact that animals go through such business. Really, you'd think that it would be much easier for all to lay eggs. Far less messy.

[Lilligant does perk up for a moment, about to raise her hands in protest--but when she sees that she's going for the flower and not the 'do, she stands primly still.]

They do, yes. Really, think of any creature in your world, and I can robably tell you that they lay an egg in mine.
matchbreaker: (the one below was the worse option)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-07 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
... Even bats?

[ Bats that lay eggs, what a weird thought...? Elda shakes her head, trying to dismiss the thought, but just lets it sit there. Instead, she sort of runs her fingernail over the flower some more.

Huh. ]
elepe: (MMMHMM ❇ I'll pretend I'm listening)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-07 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
We call them Zubat, but yes. They likely have many nests, considering how common they are...

[Seriously. Zubats are a scourge.]
matchbreaker: (NEW ICON REMAKE (why))

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-07 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh good! I'm glad to hear it!

[ Bats are apparently important.

Smiling, she says this ]
elepe: (LAUGH ❇ Dermatologist hate me!)

[personal profile] elepe 2017-02-07 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
...Were you worried that we did not have Zubat?

[She kind of smiles, just a bit?]
matchbreaker: (wait that's the wrong lyrics)

[personal profile] matchbreaker 2017-02-07 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Well it would be a pretty messed up world to not have bats.

[ Vampire, and all. ]
