WEEK 5.
Angela Ziegler, Nicholas Wilde, and Judy Hopps were all punished. Zolf J Kimbley was killed and Gold was executed. Five deaths in one week, the most you've seen so far. Will this ever end? Your number is rapidly dropping. Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Those checking to see whether another door in the stairwells leading downward have been opened will see that once again, you've been rewarded with a new floor; perhaps it's a shame that so many people had to die in order for you to receive it. Or perhaps it's a blessing from a certain point of view, given what almost happened on Thursday night; after all, your number could be much, much lower. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week five of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

So. Who are these people? Friends from home?
[She's probably completed at least a few by now.]
no subject
Yep. [ His hair's coming along nicely; he really does look better with it like this rather than the chocobo hair he used to have. She gestures to the pink-haired women. ] That's Lightning and her sister, Serah. [ To the other completed portrait-- ] And that's Fang.
I'm working on Snow, right now.
no subject
Are they really named Lightning, Fang, and Snow? I can't assume that those are just nicknames thanks to Gold and Silver.
[...just their names, not... ugh. Why did he mention them.]
...Tell me about these people.
[Here's a distraction, please take it!!]
no subject
[ Her own expression falters a little bit, and... hell, at least she can erase that little mistake on Snow's face. ]
Erm... well, Lightning's not her real name. But I'm not going to tell you what it is! [ It seems like disrespect, to tell him. ] She was a soldier, before something terrible happened to Serah. I don't really remember when we met, exactly, but we fought the Fal'Cie together. All of us, except Serah. Anyway... Lightning's real tough. She doesn't take things sitting down; she was kind of our leader. She was kind, though, once you got to know her. She had a good heart, and she loved her sister more than anything and anyone.
[ ... she doesn't even realize she's started speaking in past tense. ]
Serah, like I said, was Lightning's sister. We met before Lightning and I met, in her home, Bodhum. She told me about her fears... she was scared of being alone. I guess we have that in common. But even though she had a lot of fears, she was always so strong. She fought for her sister, when everyone though Lightning was dead and gone. She went off to find her, and she was really amazing! Before she went out to look for Lightning, she was a teacher. Her kids... they loved her a lot. And in the end, she found Lightning. She did all she could to keep something terrible from happening... but in the end, I guess fate had something else in store for her.
[ ... MOVING ON. ]
I've known Fang since we were kids. Always together, even in the worst of situations. She looked out for me, taught me how to fight and all that. Heck, she could take down a behemoth singlehandedly. And she did, a lot, mostly to show off. [ She laughs a little, fondly. ] Stubborn, too. Real stubborn. She'd fight through thousands of critters and enemies just to protect the people she loved. She was... always there for me. Even when I--
[ She cuts herself off, because that's treading into painful territory. Her voice sounds... sad. Distant. ]
And then there's Snow. A real idiot, but he had a good heart. Really big. He was supposed to marry Serah. He was... her hero. [ She laughs a little, but it's not quite as vibrant. ] Lightning liked to punch him. A lot. But eventually, she accepted him into the Farron family. Snow was determined to do what he could to protect those he loved, too. But if he sank into a depression... it was hard to pull him out. I guess he just felt for people so much that it wore on him. [ She pauses. ] After a certain event occurred, he became the Patron of Yusnaan. He watched over the people there, kept them safe. But... I think the whole time, he was just waiting for it all to end.
[ ... ]
And that's who all I've drawn.
[ what a lovely conversation this is going to be ]

Gangrel, of course, has all the delicacy of a goddamn steamroller.]
...Did you remember all of them dying or something?
[GANGREL CAN YOU MAYBE TRY TO NOT BE LIKE THIS]
no subject
Erm... I think so. [ She's defeated... and it's audible in her tone. ] There was... something I needed to do back in Luxerion. Since I wasn't there to do it... [ oh no, don't cry ] I think... I think everyone's souls-- they weren't able to make it to the New World.
[ so they're all super fucked. ]

[This sounds like a Story, and stories are good distractions from feeling kind of weird about defeating his arch-enemy and feeling vaguely disappointed about it.]

Well... after our last battle, something happened. Lightning... she got taken by the Chaos. I'm not sure why or how yet, but... Everyone except for Serah thought she was dead. So... Serah set out to find her. And she did, in the end. But after she fought her last battle... Serah died.
And the Chaos consumed the world. Cocoon, Gran Pulse... they were gone, and Nova Chrysalia was born. Time doesn't flow in Nova Chrysalia, so no one ages. No one dies, unless they're killed by monsters. No one is born. And the souls of those people who died when Cocoon and Gran Pulse were destroyed... they were trapped in the Chaos forever.
I woke up from my crystal sleep in a place called Luxerion. I don't remember actually waking up, but I was there in my memories. The Order in Luxerion took me in. I could hear the souls of those trapped in the Chaos, and... well. As the Order's Saint, only I could free the souls in the Chaos. It's called the Soulsong, and while it had a steep price to pay, I was willing to do it to free those poor souls.
I'm not exactly certain what'll happen to them... but I'm sure they're all doomed, because I wasn't there to perform the Soulsong.
no subject
...That's dreadful. I can't imagine what that's like.
[that's rough, buddy]
Are you certain that they're doomed? There's no chance for you to save them?
no subject
I'm certain. There was a time limit. When Lightning woke up from her crystal sleep, only thirteen days remained until everything ended. [ Her throat feels tight. ] It's been... way longer than thirteen days, since I last saw her.
no subject
Do you know for sure that you don't have any memories after that? For all you know you've already brought them back.
[It's not really in his nature to try to help people, but this is payment for the cooking lessons, maybe.]
no subject
It's not so much bringing them back as it is escorting them to the New World. Lightning was to fight Bhunivelze, the first Fal'Cie. He was the god above all gods. [ So major business. ] When she defeated him-- [ Because she knows Lightning never would have chosen to become his Goddess, ] --Nova Chrysalia would've come to an end.
Without the Soulsong, all those souls that lived on Cocoon, on Gran Pulse, on Nova Chrysalia... they would have been lost to the Chaos. Obliterated forever, with no chance of being saved or reborn.
no subject
[The words aren't harsh, surprisingly, but they're not exactly gentle either. It's tempered into neutrality, but that's really the most he can manage because as previously stated, Gangrel doesn't do comfort.]
no subject
But she weirdly doesn't regret it. ]
You know, you're right.
[ She taps her pencil against the portrait. When she finally looks at him, it's with a teasing kind of smile. It's somewhat muted, though, but it's an improvement. ]
I didn't think you'd be the one to make me feel a little better about this.
no subject
[He holds up a finger in protest, scowling.]
I'm only making an exception this once because it's so bizarre to see you down in the dumps! That's it! I doubt you'd be up to continuing our lessons if you were upset all the time about this!
[THAT'S TOTALLY IT SHUT UP VANILLE]
no subject
[ SHE DOESN'T BELIEVE HIM. Gangrel, are you developing a feeling... ]
But you still helped. So, thank you.
no subject
Bah. Don't mention it. Ever. I have a reputation to maintain here, you know!
[Ugh, he's going so soft.]
no subject
[ Speaking of their lessons-- ]
So, have you tried practicing since I showed you some of that stuff?
no subject
A bit. I don't want anyone to see me attempting, so there isn't usually a lot of time to try it.
[thanks for reminding me, guess what'll be in my next top level!!]
no subject
Still pretty ambitious of you, anyway. Hm... is there anything you really want to try making?
