romance and murder go so well together
[ If the colorful posters from Tuesday weren't enough, Yato has redoubled his efforts for today and slapped these up all over the place:

We are admittedly not entirely sure what the heck the catgirl is there for, but she's there. Anyway, in the dining hall this evening, Aqua and Yato have set things up for a group dinner!! All the food is being put on one table; the rest of the room is for mingling and is colorfully decorated in a way that suggests that Yato went wild in the art room at some point and decided what we all really need in our lives is more color and more glitter!!
There's also this piece of paper with everybody's names on it in pairs, and sets of questions (red tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet). That's right, your mystery game is speed-dating and Yato is here to be your cupid for the evening!! ]

....Okay no, actually. He has no idea what he's doing either, and it seems he's only just learned what they're really being brought here for. Speed-dating was an entirely new concept, and it seems they're kind of stuck to it now. Them's the breaks.
Then again, there's people here that look even more nervous then he does. Just their luck that they'd end up on the list together...]
Miss Megumi. I see you've made it to the party all the same. [...] I get the feeling you're as surprised as I was.
no subject
Indeed. I wish I had known ahead of time, otherwise I would have been a little more prepared.
[...Not that there was much she could really do about that, given having a limited wardrobe here, but at least she could have brought something better than onigiri...]
no subject
Can't say I'm feeling any more ready then you are. [Even if he does look rather dapper right now. But that's just how Jojo's is.]
Well! No sense in letting it get you down, eh? This whole thing is supposed to be in good fun I'd figure.
[Who knows. Maybe love really can bloom on the battlefield.]
no subject
[We just... have to deal with the awkwardness of the questions being intended for finding romantic partners, that's all...]
Would you like to go first with asking something, or should I?
no subject
Well seeing as I was the one to speak with you, I guess it's only right that I ask a question then.
[Let's see... what isn't terribly embarrassing.... for Megumi's sake.]
How about this: what are you most grateful in life for?
no subject
... My students. [Ha] I was so afraid that I wasn't cut out for being a teacher, or that the students wouldn't like me somehow, but...
[She's still not too sure on the former, but...]
Even so, I'm so grateful that I was given the opportunity to be their teacher all the same.
no subject
Well if you're doing the job as you think you should, I'm sure they're enjoying it all the same. Honestly, I can't see a reason why they wouldn't dislike you, miss Megumi.
[There it is, an honest compliment. Get it while it's hot.]
no subject
[compliments, what are those, how do we handle those--]
It's our turn to ask a question now right?
[...Apparently we handle them by subject-changing.]
no subject
Err... [What does he say here then?]
Yes, I suppose now's the part where you ask me about something. [Concernedwagon is go] Now don't worry about the question, just ask whatever you can think of.
no subject
What do you value most in a friendship, Speedwagon-san?
no subject
...Trust, that's the root of it. Cant very well be a good friend if you can't trust the other person. If it all fell through, then what was the point of it then?
[He probably looks silly now, head held high, speaking like a cockney fortune cookie.]
...I guess that's an important thing all around, anyhow.
no subject
[Which, in hindsight probably makes the murder vault situation worse: we're all calling each other friends, but with the murders that have been happening for two weeks now, do we really trust each other here?
...No, she shouldn't think like that. That's just too sad to think that way.]
... Um, I think it's your turn to ask something now?
no subject
mrrgh. He couldn't give up hope that easily. Especially not at such a cute little event!]
Oh, guess I should then. [How about another of those questions on this paper...]
"When did you last sing to yourself?"
no subject
[Probably not helped by spending weeks in lol murdervault.]
...Ah, but sometimes I do that when I have the radio on in my car? I tend to have it off when I'm driving to work, but every once in a while I'll listen and sing along to some music on the way back home...
no subject
Splendid answer. [nodnod smile] Granted, I still can't really picture what a car or a radio might look like but that's hardly the point.
I suppose now you can ask me another?
no subject
Oh, yes! [Hm...] What would you consider to be the perfect day for you?
no subject
A perfect day then...? Well I would say that would need [not being here for starters] enough food and money to my name that I wouldn't have to worry about it for a day.
[...His gaze dips away from Megumi for a moment. Maybe he said more then he should have?]
I would have the nicest rest in my life.
no subject
Oh, I see... [That's a little sad, Speedwagon. Still, she tries to offer a reassuring smile.] ...But, I'm sure that you'll be able to have a day like that soon, once we're able to leave this place.
[We just have to do our best to find a way out of here, and then everything will get better for all of us.]
no subject
Yes. [It's plenty sad, but he appreciates her attempts to cheer him up? He's fine. Everything's fine. People keep dying so he has to be fine.]
I'll be glad to learn it after we can all get out of this nightmare. And, truthfully, I believe we can.
