[it is very early in the morning, before the chime, that Sportacus wakes up and heads to the vending machine to put in his latest coins. it's mainly a boring bunch of stuff, maybe some good gifts for his friends back home... the teddy bear dressed up like him gets his attention, though.]
Ziggy's teddy... Why would it be in there... [surely a homicidal kidnapper wouldn't stoop so low as to steal a toy from a child! he doesn't notice the strange wind-up mechanism on its back.
he carries it tucked in his arm as he walks to the gym, where he plans to do his morning routine. but, when he walks in the door, it all just kind of. hits him. all at once. he looks at the punching bag, remembers Judy using it only a few days before... Judy, who is dead, like all the others; who he will never speak to again, like all the others; who he failed to save, like all the others.
so, anyone unfortunate enough to go to the gym this morning is going to find a grown man curled up in the corner, clutching a teddy bear that's dressed like him, and weeping. that's just the kind of week this has been.]
