YO. WE HAVE PAINTS. WE HAVE SPRAY PAINT. WE ARE ALLOWED TO DO WHATEVER WE WANT TO THE WALLS AS LONG AS WE DON'T BREAK THEM.

LET'S MAKE THE ACADEMY'S WALLS OUR CANVAS.

[At the appointed time, when those interested walk into the art studio, they'll see that holy shit, Guzma got a lot of paints out of the storage room and put them all over the tables. There's a lot of stuff there, ready for everyone to grab and spread out all over the academy and paint all over everything.]

[...So something that hasn't been addressed this week is Hanyuu is so not here for normal clothes this week, so she'll be wandering the halls in her Team Skull tank and school uniform pants. It looks ridiculous and really helps put together the vandal vibe.

She's never...used spray paint before...but she wanders about, not really making a lot of pictures, but rather random lines, in white or black or blue.

In the foyer however, she's spraying a few things, on the wall where...actually, where Kageshirou was last week. They are a few kanji, all in black.]

[Varric scoffed and then shook his head. The past few days were quickly revealing that Watanuki was miserable when it came to art.]

It's a dragon. A lot of people used it as a sign of protest around Kirkwall. Used to be the heraldry of the city back when it was a slaver city. You used to find it all over the place, years later. It was a way of saying that shit still sucked as bad as it did during that awful time.

Ah. So by painting it you're saying 'things here suck as bad as they do'?

[He definitely agrees with that, at least.]

[ She nods ] Of course it does, it's a huge turning point in a young vampire's life. They grow their fangs and their abilities become more properly useable. That's also the point where the sun starts burning them and it'll be the first time they feed on blood.

Gold seemed nervous about it, so I stepped in.

I don't get why he would be nervous. We're friends, aren't we?

[His use of the present tense here is because death is not a limiting factor in friendships, as far as he is concerned.]

You're a guy. Gold gets weird about liking guys.

[He is perfectly content to keep talking about Gold in the present tense, really.]

Why? I mean, I get it, guys don't normally like guys. But just thinking one is attractive doesn't really mean much of anything.

[That's pretty much what he's been telling himself for the last week. 'It's not gay if you're not dating' or some shit like that.]

Exactly. Granted, Kirkwall has gotten much better under its esteemed dwarven ruler. [He glanced up at Watanuki with a grin.] Did I tell you about that? Another one of those fun little memory gifts from the big man upstairs.

Really? No, you didn't tell me that! Geez, I never knew I was friends with a king!

[The shock, it is genuine. But he's also pretty happy for Varric too, it sounds like he has the chance to do a lot of good.]

A King? Maker no, nothing so fancy. I'm what we call a Viscount, just a ruler of a city and its surrounding land. And it's not something I've made a big deal of, here or back home.

A little pissed that it happened, really. Turns out, you try engaging in some philanthropy, you get thrown under the carriage and made a ruler. It's a cursed position, you know. The last actual Viscount got his head lopped off, and the woman who took control of the city after him turned into a big crystal statue.

Well, yeah. I mean, it's not rare or anything, but usually boys like girls and girls like boys and that's it. Sometimes there's boys who like boys, and girls who like girls, and sometimes there's boys and girls who like both. And then there's people who don't like anyone. But usually if you meet someone, they're going to like the opposite of whatever they are.

Like take me for example. I like girls. Every person I've ever liked in that 'LIKE-like' way has been a girl. ...though I guess I wouldn't mind if I ended up liking a guy? I mean, I don't really go out looking for guys like that, but if one came along-

[He's just confusing himself himself at this point, so he shakes his head quickly.]

ANYWAY, the point is that it doesn't usually happen.

So Gold feels weird about liking guys because it's unusual. And because he likes girls more. ...And he's bad at feelings.

[That makes sense.]

Well I'm pretty sure you won't get your head lopped off, you probably make more friends than enemies with your kindness. And as for a crystal statue...well...you should be making plenty of mage-friends to keep you from that fate, right?

[Because he absolutely is assuming that Varric would free all the mages and let them do whatever.]

It's a good thing, Varric. You could do a lot of good for a lot of people, having a position like that.

Pretty much, yeah.

[Doot doot he's finishing up that design now.]

I mean, I can understand being all weird about it, but he didn't have to lie. It's not like I would have hated him for it or anything. And maybe I would have been a little more honest with him back then too.

[ He's holding his blue spray can upside down. ]

...Ah, by the way, do you know how to use these?

[He'll just ignore the questions of his fate. A little morbid to think about, here in murder school.]

I'd like to think I have already. Elves are treated pretty poorly around Thedas, but I was at least able to arrange with another city-state to give a local clan a little bargaining power.

But maybe that's just doing favors for friends. The clan was where a friend of mine came from. [He chuckled.] Also gave him a key to the city. Turns out, that key activates some of the harbor chains. Maybe a bit of a mistake, that one.

Well it can't really be favoritism if you're friends with everyone, right? But why was it bad that the key activated harbor chains, did boats go floating away or something?
