[...so, uh, that was a thing that happened. Tarrlok was completely ready to do the politician thing and come up with a speech or something for most of whatever the hell that excuse for a trial was, but everything got all confusing, baffling, and horrifying and completely inexplicably, he can't find the words.

Maybe he just... needs a day. Tomorrow will probably be fine. For now, though, Misa volunteered to make brownies, and he was going to make a Northern Water Tribe comfort food specialty.

...even if they only had shortening and not actual animal fat and it'd been a while since he'd made it, but it tasted... alright? Definitely not as good as the stuff back home, but it was hard to get that good, anyway.

...there's also the matter of setting things up in a location other than the dining hall, because even though that's cleaned up, it still feels pretty tasteless to hold a wake literal feet from the place you found someone's bloody corpse.

And if the Survivors choose to head to the library, they'll find a... well, okay, it's a bunch of boxes from the storage room of comparable size stacked up on each other to kind of resemble a table. The dining hall ones don't even seem like they'd fit in the library, so Team Afterparty clearly had to improvise. One side is filled with plates, bowls, and spoons, and the other is filled with brownies, cookies, and a big bowl of berry aqutak. There are also chairs dotted throughout the room in a sort of vague circle --- close enough together that if people want to talk, they can, but far enough apart that it'd be easy to drag it off for some privacy.]

[ It's nice, just to think about... well, almost nothing. Aqua's glad to lose herself in the melody; it's reassuring to know that, even after everything bad that's happened, she can still remember this song and what it means to her.

He wouldn't say. I don't know if it means that he might've been like us, put through the same experience, or if he wasn't alone until he got here, but he said that at one point that he was with others. So your guess is as good as mine.

If we could somehow find a way to escape this twisted game, I'd be more than happy to do it. I refuse to believe the only way to leave is murder.

You bet. Anyone who gets infected is dealt with, but we'd really like to prevent that from happening in the first place, so my job is to clear out sections of the land and then from there the higher up decides what to do with it. Some of it is kept under watch and let regrown, some of it is burned to form lines against hardier sections of trolls, but the main goal is to retake all the land some day so that people can live and go where they please.

[...is something burning? He probably couldn't smell the food from here, so there must be...

We can toss ideas out all day when we get the chance to tell the others, and hopefully by then I'll have something more to speak about, but as it stands that's all we've got.

You can, if you'd like. This is the way I'm making my peace with them, though it would've been better to do it with their bodies, but I know there's some people who like to talk instead.

There's no reason to hate him or be angry, though. It was a fair fight they both asked for and what was left was a body Kamui could feed off of. One was just stronger than the other and they knew it.

[She shakes her head, chuckling lightly at the two idiots.]

If Kamui had died instead, we would've been putting Zagi to death, and I still couldn't see a reason to feel either of those things.

[Because either way, it was just as it should be in her mind. Zagi lived and breathed fighting as much as she did and Kamui was strong enough to give him a run for his money.]

If there's anyone you should direct those feelings to, it's the Kingmaker, and even then he was only giving us the tools we needed to do what we had to do. [But she's more irritated now, playing with the lighter she got earlier from Mettaton.] It's just unforgivable he'd use Zagi's body that way.

Yeah, they look like little shot glasses. Makes ya wonder why we've got so much tea in this place and no whiskey.

I've been working with Aqua in the evenings, she's absolutely precious - and she seems like she'd be interested in helping with something like that. I'll see what I can manage out of the rest of them, too, why not.

It's a mixture of whipped animal fat and... whatever you have lying around, basically. Usually something sweet, which you think wouldn't go well with it, but it absolutely does. You can make it with meat or berries depending on what you want it to taste most like, so if you think you'd like something savory a little better, it's definitely a good choice.

...I suppose you can make it with shortening, too, which is what I did, but it's definitely not as good. That... might just be me, though.

More like "without mercy" - humans mostly seem to have things like that, but there are definitely some without.

[He has to think about that second one, though.]

Those from the Underground...well, we don't really have physical bodies normally. Our souls are pretty much everything - once our soul is gone, there's nothing else left, we don't even leave bodies. And it's mostly believed that our souls are made of love and compassion, something like that. So I'd...assume so?

I don't know how much I agree with that; we can be just as bloodthirsty as anyone else, I think. I've seen a lot of that, anyway.

Clearly, what supposedly happened to our worlds is one.

I'll drink to that! Boy, what I wouldn't give for some hard stuff, but even the drink I got from that vending machine's too weak to satisfy me.

Oh, no, I figured it was some sort of funerary ritual, so I certainly wasn't going to scold you about it. It's not like this is the most flammable building around, after all.
