[...so, uh, that was a thing that happened. Tarrlok was completely ready to do the politician thing and come up with a speech or something for most of whatever the hell that excuse for a trial was, but everything got all confusing, baffling, and horrifying and completely inexplicably, he can't find the words.

Maybe he just... needs a day. Tomorrow will probably be fine. For now, though, Misa volunteered to make brownies, and he was going to make a Northern Water Tribe comfort food specialty.

...even if they only had shortening and not actual animal fat and it'd been a while since he'd made it, but it tasted... alright? Definitely not as good as the stuff back home, but it was hard to get that good, anyway.

...there's also the matter of setting things up in a location other than the dining hall, because even though that's cleaned up, it still feels pretty tasteless to hold a wake literal feet from the place you found someone's bloody corpse.

So, a little later on in the day, a lovingly personalized note will be slid under everyone's doors:

And if the Survivors choose to head to the library, they'll find a... well, okay, it's a bunch of boxes from the storage room of comparable size stacked up on each other to kind of resemble a table. The dining hall ones don't even seem like they'd fit in the library, so Team Afterparty clearly had to improvise. One side is filled with plates, bowls, and spoons, and the other is filled with brownies, cookies, and a big bowl of berry aqutak. There are also chairs dotted throughout the room in a sort of vague circle --- close enough together that if people want to talk, they can, but far enough apart that it'd be easy to drag it off for some privacy.]

[Kogoro Mouri is fine...relatively...but he can't deny he is shaken up by the experience. That doesn't mean he is going to pout in his room for the rest of the day, though. May as well go to the meeting and try to provide some emotional support, as badly as he may do that.

So there he goes, sitting to a side of the "table". It seems like he is kind of...downcast. Not outright depressed but it is noticeable enough, especially because until now he had kept a semblance of fortitude]

[This is a good idea. Few people would take what just happened well, and two of those people (probably) are dead.

Cherryblod heads to the library, although he can't quite manage to settle down. Instead he'll ask anyone who's not Mettaton:]

[The library had been one of Gabriel's favorite places to visit, if only because he's used to surrounding himself with books. Now, he's not so sure. Even if what had happened as the result of two people fighting to the death willingly, he.... well, it's disturbing, isn't it?

He's not one to turn down something like this, however, even if he doesn't know what to do or how to feel. When he arrives in the library, he takes a bit of the cookies and the aqutak before sitting down rather heavily in one of the chairs.]

Does anyone here have experience with zombies?

[He'll just.... outright say it, because what the fuck else could Zagi have been. It's said low enough people are free to ignore it, but it's also said in a tone that indicates he might actually have experience with this sort of thing.]

Not much. I've only encountered a few.

I had never realized how much pressure there was on all of us. This is all much worse than I had expected.

I don't think it took any of us by complete surprise, but it's always much harder than you'd expect.

The worst part is that although I always supposed we all would have to investigate and find out who the killer is, I never thought it would end in something like...

I did suspect it would end in the culprit's death, but I didn't think it would be so brutal.

I'm way too used to seeing criminals being taken away by police and merely being locked away. Death sentences are not common in my city.

Misa, to her credit, looks utterly exhausted. She's been scared stiff since this morning; pretty much absolutely nothing about today was okay, and that last execution was really just the icing on this horrible clusterfuck of a cake.

That said, though, she couldn't afford to be alone, couldn't imagine what her thoughts would be like if she had stayed by herself, which is why she jumped at the chance to organize something, anything to keep the group together. The brownies aren't quite as good as the ones from yesterday, but they're definitely still passable; hopefully she'll be forgiven, but she was making them a bit absent-mindedly.

She smiles and waves at everyone who comes in, but still, she spends most of her time in the library here huddled underneath a blanket from the storage room. It was a long day. She imagines it'll be a longer night. ]

It was fairly bad, if you're not used to seeing things like that...

...he's occasionally sitting on one of the chairs and eating a few bites of it with a really dissatisfied expression, even if he seems to... have completely different looking aqutak every so often. He keeps experimenting, but it never tastes right... should he cut trimmings off the steaks? Would that fat even be good in this? He just doesn't know.

At least fretting over the food keeps him from actually thinking about that mess of a trial, because he really doesn't want to talk about it.]

I'm sorry. You're a very kind person - some people go through those sorts of experiences and come out bitter.

[Sigrun hadn't wanted to come, at first. She'd wanted to hold a vigil in his honor instead, find some way to do a funeral here in the style she knows best for her warriors, but with the body gone and apparently used as a puppet that's settled into slipping into Zagi's room to take something she'd recalled him wearing since the day he got it:

And from Kamui's room, she's taking his bloody clothes, grimacing slightly at the sight of it and bundling it within the cape.

From there, Sigrun's actually going to be sitting a few feet away from the library entrance itself, tearing up some papers to use as kindling for her fire and... not actually being able to burn it. Look, matches suck.

(And once she's got it lit she'll be chilling out there, watching the flames quietly until they go out.)]

It was hard, at first. Misa-Misa was in a dark place, once. But I learned I have to carry on, you know? ...I found something worth moving forward for, is all.

[You know, Mettaton will watch Sigrun suck at setting clothes on fire for a moment before he...turns around, wanders back to his room, and comes back with a couple of things with him.

Well, I couldn't go just being miserable. First off, no one likes an idol who doesn't know how to smile. And second, well...actually, it was Light who supported me a lot, during that time.

[Yosuke doesn't come to the library right away. In fact, if anyone goes looking for him he spends almost an hour in the kitchen, washing his knives. Washing such little things certainly doesn't take that long, but he keeps going over them again and again... if just to have something to do with his hands.

When he eventually does make it to the 'party' he makes a small face at the Akutaq, but eventually tries some. And even manages a little food. No break downs, no dramatics. Just... quiet and non engaging for now, as if none of this had really set in just yet.]
