Paper Faces on Parade

[ Okay, so, assuming everyone got a crossword and an invite on Tuesday, one would assume that pretty much everyone knows that Misa's planning something. A sign on the door of the music room will indicate as much, a nice big "KEEP OUT PLEASE ♥" to make sure everything's set up just right before the festivities start. The tables are set up just right for snacks and all, the stage is set, the room is even decorated with hand-made streamers and lots of bright ribbons from the art room! When Misa goes hard, she goes hard, apparently. The floor isn't exactly a dance floor, but it should be nice enough that people can dance if they want to, and though she had a really hard time pushing everything around to make the perfect amount of space, it looks like it's about as good as it's going to get.

The guests'll be happy to know there aren't any penalty snacks this time around; nothing set out on the table looks gross or horribly out of place like at Truth or Dare. Everything looks pretty cute, actually; between the desserts and the actual cocktails set out, she and Aqua kind of outdid themselves in terms of meal planning. As for the host herself, she'll obviously be running around too, making sure everything's going okay; one would think that between prepping the food and the party itself, she wouldn't have much time to get herself all dolled up, but a model always has to look her best! And Misa certainly isn't giving anything less than 110 percent, between her short black dress and her ma-- jesus Misa save some glitter for everyone else

In any case, the party is definitely intended to be a late-night affair! And all are welcome, so feel free to come in and dance the night away! Misa even has a bunch of masks in different colors made for people who didn't have time to make one themselves, so don't be shy to grab one and have fun! ]

[ Finding Misa herself shouldn't be horrendously difficult after the party starts; she might be dressed up, but it's difficult to miss the bright blonde pigtails sticking out from the crowd. Don't even think about wallflowering; the second she spots someone off to themselves, she'll pull them aside and towards the center of the room, insisting that they dance with her if only for a bit! When that's not happening and she's not socializing, she'll probably be by the food tables, shoving dessert down her throat and making sure everyone else is enjoying the festivities...

Relying on other people for the music, though, seemed like a good idea in theory, but it's not exactly a foolproof plan of attack, so, if there's ever too much of a lull, she'll take it as her cue to hop up on stage and take requests!! She might not know all the words to everything by heart, but, hey, can't fault a girl for trying, right? And her singing voice isn't too bad, either, as expected of such a celebrity!

Overall, not too bad of a distraction, if she says so herself. ]

[Okay, it's not like Cherryblod wouldn't be recognizable to everyone. Even with his mask and suit - look, he learned how buttons work! - he very clearly still has hair antennae and a shrimp tail, so any chance of actually being mysterious is out the window.

That said, he's still having a great time. When he's not sipping on one of the cocktails, he's approaching people with one question.]

Would you do me the honor of a dance?

[Mouri is here, with a mask and all! Made by Misa, too. Usually he wouldn't have come to a party - this is no place for parties and while he knows keeping morale high is important this isn't how he thought it would be done.

Still, he is here, and his objective has been achieved: go eat some of Misa's baked sweets]

[First a fancy date, now a fancy dance.

Well.

Sigrun isn't dressed for success nor does she want a mask of her own -- the thought of having something pressed against her like that isn't exactly pleasant, judging from her own reactions to a straitjacket earlier yesterday, but she's supplying some music on her lyre, obviously intending never to set a foot on the goddamn dance floor. Nope. Your leader is a wallflower.

When she's not playing the best dancey music she can think of that doesn't have bloody tales attached she's enjoying herself with the food and drinks. Still not touching the dance floor if she can help it. Not her scene. Not her people. Feeling vaguely out of place.

... And when she doesn't want to feel out of place anymore, Sigrun is going to be staying outside the dining hall, plucking at her lyre looking the most relieved until she decides it's time to get going. She gave it a shot, okay.]

[Not bad at all, and Misa's one of the only reasons Sigrun even came. To show her support. Fancy stuff are just not for her.

So yes. The tables. They can eat together. Sigrun's maskless herself, but, you know. She is not looking for one.]

Well, pigtails, you have too many hours in a day. Your usual schedule really shows between this and... last night.

[Gabriel isn't the world's best dancer, but that doesn't mean he's not going to show up at the masquerade-- that would be silly. He doesn't exactly have anything fancy from the machine to wear, so as a result, he's in the outfit he arrived here in, which means a t-shirt and a leather jacket.

He picks up one of the drinks, sipping from it carefully.]

I bet this is the first party this place has ever seen.

[Better than her, anyway, military wear's military wear. Fit for all occasions. Meticulously handwashed every so often.]

Maybe, maybe not. If there's been people here before us, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that there might've been something like this. If they didn't just go nuts the first day.

[Stan appears to have taken the invitation to a masquarade as an excuse to be exactly as horrifying as he feels like being. He's just wearing his usual suit with it, since the color schemes go together and all. The only change is a neat red bow-tie in place of his usual one, plus a sharp black hat. He thought about a wig, but...well.

As far as his brand of costumery goes, it's actually pretty low-bar; he didn't have the time or materials for a proper Summerween outfit. Besides, it's a lot more fun scaring little kids!

He's still definitely going to creep up behind people though.]

[Gabriel might be a writer, but that doesn't mean he's the most creative person when it comes to making costumes. Sure, he can describe them but not much else. That's why his mask is on the simple side.

He also didn't bother with trying to make a fancy outfit for himself, so he's in the clothes he arrived in-- a t-shirt and a leather jacket. Not fancy in the least, but he doesn't actually expect to do much in the way of dancing tonight.

Still, even if he's not going to be asking people to dance, he will be approaching people throughout the night to chat.]

[Cherryblod's reaction to someone creeping up behind him and startling him is an instinctual one: smack whoever it is with the nearest available body part, his tail.

...Smack them fairly hard with his tail. He'll apologize once he actually turns around.]

Ow! Hahahaha, good one!

[Stan is, at least, aware of and at peace with the possible consequences of sneaking up on people.]

[That's good. Cherryblod looks more concerned than mad.]

Are you alright?

[Stan waves it off.]

Yeah, yeah. I didn't know you could hit like that with that thing!

Tails are multipurpose. And really, there's no point having a body part and not learning to use it.

[ So there's not much to work with in the sewing room, but Aqua's managed to throw together a fairly simple dress and matching mask. ]

If we're not busting out any moves like we did in the arcade, of course.

Maybe we'll find some clues that are from a long-ended party.

I bet there are party hats hidden around here somewhere. Something goofy, loud, and that probably say "happy birthday" in neon colors.

Thinking something slower would suit the mood better. Do you waltz? Or tango?

I've never learned the tango--but I do know the waltz.

[A party. An honest to goodness party. And, for the first time in Speedwagon's memory, he was invited!

Maybe that's why he's a tad nervous about the whole idea. He's hardly the type that would have been allowed to the extravagant events of home. It was merely a party among friends, but Speedwagon didn't want to appear lazy. As far as dressing up went, his mask was pretty simple - blame his terrible art skills. His suit is the same one from the vending machine, minus the hat. For this evening, he's actually put his hair up for once. How long will that rubber band last? We just don't know.

He's... he's definitely Speedwagon though. No way to hide that. But really, he's just here to have a bit of fun. Not that he's expecting to do much dancing tonight, but there are plenty of desserts to try.]

[Since Mouri is camping around the food table he is still there when Sigrun gets near. Huh, this isn't what he expected]

[nom] I thought you'd be out there dancing until you were too tired to move. Kind of weird to not to see you doing that.

[You jerk, who startles people while they are eating.

Mouri almost chokes but manages to avoid it, instead turning around and glaring at Stan. Really, man?]

A big ol' banner stuck behind a shelf, splashed with glitter and every color under the sun.

[She pauses there, humming thoughtfully.]

I wonder when we are, anyway. If we should've celebrated any birthdays by now. Maybe we should just have a grand thing for it and everyone can be a year older.
