WEEK 3 As the second week draws to a close, two more have joined the deceased. Christo and Alani are dead, leaving twenty-six of you remaining. It may not seem like very many have died, but their absence will certainly be felt. Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Just like last week, a door in the stairwell has opened, leading you down further into the building; there are more rooms open to you down there - possibly even one that you'll find personally interesting. Whatever it is, it's kind of cute? Sort of like how a pug manages to be both ugly and cute at the same time.

You know, that's a good description of it? More or less how I'm looking at it, anyway.

Do you think it likes fish? It looks like it's part cat... [ ... ] I wonder if it'll hiss if you spray water on it.

[ Plants need water to live but maybe being part cat gives it mixed feelings on water? ]

...I don't suppose you have a spray bottle. I'd use the tap, but I think that'd be skewing things a bit.

I think I saw a spray bottle in the storage room? Lemme go check.

[ He leaves the room... and comes back a few minutes later holding a spray bottle filled with water. He kind of feels like an asshole for wanting to spray water on it, but he's curious and wants to see how it reacts. ]

[alchemicals]

[We are going to piss off this intensely fussy cat plant so bad, holy shit.]

You want to do the honors?

[ CAT PLANT DESERVES BETTER 2K17 ]

Yeah, sure. [ He feels a pang of guilt when he aims the bottle at the side of Stray Cat's face, making sure he won't hit it in the eyes... and then he pulls the trigger, spraying water over it. ]

[...ohhhhhh that is a very cranky cat indeed good lord we are getting swatted at - ]

It'll get over it - cats are weird, fickle assholes, anyway.

...That's true. I prefer dogs - they don't bring you dead mice or push things off tables.

I've always been more of a dog person, yeah - I've never had one of my own, but I used to play with some of them from around the place I lived in when I was a kid. It was all kind of open like that, pretty safe and all, so I never really thought too much of it.

Ahhh, that sounds nice. I've had my precious Makkachin since I was twelve. He's a little spoiled, but he's the most affectionate poodle ever.

[alchemicals]

Makkachin, huh? Cute name, I like it.

[quadruples]

Sometimes my fans ask me if the name comes from mokkachino, the Russian word for caffè mocha, but I actually just mashed syllables together until I got something that sounded nice.

Ah, speaking of names, does the plant have one yet?

[alchemicals]

I haven't given it one. If it belongs to somebody, they might've, but nobody's claimed it yet.

If I can't figure out who owns the dumb thing, we might just go the "smash syllables together until it sounds like a name" route.

Hm... [ Viktor scratches his chin, trying to think of a good name. ] ...Catpuccino? Sel'skokhozyaystvennyy?

[ The second one isn't a serious suggestion and is literally just the Russian word for agricultural. ]

[alchemicals]

...I have no idea what that last one was, but I'm both fascinated and sort of mortified.

Oh, it means "agricultural" in Russian. My language has a lot of long words.

[alchemicals]

...Do you guys also do that thing where you need a word for a concept, so you just shove about a sentence's worth of words together and call it good? Amestrian sort of loves that.

[quadruples]

Yeah, we do that. Agricultural is several words mashed together, and we have a word that can be translated to "owned by a businessman or an entrepreneur."

What's the longest Amestrian word you can think of?

[alchemicals]

We have a bunch of words for alchemical procedure that I'm not even sure most people would understand.

Niederschlagswahrscheinlichkeit is basically describing how likely it is to rain today, though.

...That sounds a lot like German to me. Huh.
