[The trial, as usual, was taxing. It's for different reasons every week, but what it all comes down to is there are fewer of them than there were, and that keeps on happening. The note comes, as it always does, earlier than last week, but still with some delay. There's a note slipped under everyone's door. ...One under Gold's door because of course Silver will be staying there, she knows.]

Please come to the dining room, if you would like not to be alone. There will be food, and there will be some cards and board games if you need a distraction.

[True to that, there are a variety of foods. It's nothing too fancy. Rice, grilled fish, eggs in various styles. ...No creampuffs this time, it seems Hanyuu thought that would be a little in poor taste. Also a bunch of fries? ...Really spicy fries, like incredibly so.

On a far table, board games brought from the games room have been left out, along with many decks of cards.]

[ She's not sure if Guzma's brought along any hot cocoa... so she opts to bring Jasper a cup of cinnamon tea. It's got a little milk and sugar in it, and she sets it down in front of the larger woman. ]

That is the plant-based drink, isn't it?

Yep, that's right. It's a tree, and the inner bark's harvested to make the sticks of it.

That's very interesting. I knew organic life ate many different kinds of plants, but I didn't know it was possible to create a drink from plants, too.

Oh, there are plenty of plants you can use to make drinks! That hot cocoa Leader makes? The beans come from a plant, too.

I had no idea! Gems are never encouraged to eat, we have no reason to. But there's always so much food here...

You can do all sorts of things with plants! It's not just making food and drink out of 'em.

[ Talking about this is actually helping her a lot? Huh. ]

I guess that makes sense, but it seems kinda sad. There's so much for you to learn still, Jasper! [ She props her elbows up onto the table, chin in her hands. ] You've got a favorite food and drink by now, yeah?

I don't know if I have a favorite.

I've liked everything people have made so far, that I've tried. Especially the sweet things.

Sweet things, huh... Maybe I should try my hand at a cream cake for you.

I could probably try making simple recipes, too, I just haven't done anything like that yet.

[Because she's huge and doesn't know her way around the kitchen.]

Rice? That's that hard stuff in a bag, right? I've been wondering how it's made edible. It doesn't taste very good raw, but I guess it's okay.

Eh? Oh, you don't eat it raw, of course. You put water in with it and heat it up, and after a while, it becomes soft and good to eat.

Mm-hmm! You can put nearly anything on it, but I like vegetables with it the best. And it's great with fish.

[She turns to look toward the food, looking contemplative.]

Maybe it would go well with grilled fish, like what's available right now?

Oh, yep! It goes the best with grilled fish. [ she's so proud of u. ] See, you've got pretty great instincts.

[She is so here for trying rice and grilled fish.]

Maybe that's what I should try to cook first.

Mm, I agree. It's pretty easy, so long as you keep an eye on the fish while it's cooking!

Is it easy to overcook?

If the heat's high enough and you're not paying attention, yep.
