WEEK 2
Two people are gone from the group. Zagi and Kamui are dead, twenty-five of you are still alive, and the first week in the Vault comes to a close.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning, those klaxons are as annoying as ever but at the very least there aren't any bodies to be found. It can be assumed, perhaps, that you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; one of the previously closed-off section near the vending machine has opened up, revealing a spiral staircase leading up to the next floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

[Norman shows up to the dining room looking a little... happy? or, at least, like he's exchanged some of his usual nervousness for excitement. it's rather dramatic.

he's not looking to trade. he just takes the seat across from Cherryblod and looks at him.]

[That is a significant difference.]

[nods. smiles a bit.]

I, uh, think so, at least... I'm not too sure.

So what are they like?

Her. She's, uh... [he pauses, lost for words.] Her name's Marion. It's not the name she put down on the guest book-- she's running from something. I don't know what. She's so...

... Mysterious. Very mysterious. And beautiful.

You sound smitten.

[To say the least. Though it doesn't seem like he knows her very well...?]

I-I've never met anyone quite like her. I cooked for her, and we talked... She's just there for the night, she'll go home in the morning, but... I don't know. It feels like s-something's changed.

... Those dreams... Do you think, maybe. Do you think we might get more? [HE'S ALLOWING HIMSELF TO BE OPTIMISTIC FOR ONCE]

I don't see why we wouldn't.

[Ah, but... Only there for a night? ...Well, unexpected things do happen. Maybe Norman's luck is good.]

Gee, I hope...

-- Oh, but didn't everyone else...? [at the meeting, it seemed like it was bad dreams all around.] I-It'd be selfish of me to wish for something that's hurt others, wouldn't it?

Not everyone's dreams were bad ones.

[Just most of them.]

If more come around, then we'll see.

There's got to be more. They're like, uh, little rewards, aren't they? Like the coins. Rewards for something...

Rewards for lasting a week? Catching a murderer...?

[He doesn't like that second one.]

Both, I think. They're both what he wants, aren't they? Us to play along with his, his game?

As far as I can tell.

...Don't like getting 'rewarded' for that.

Who would? I don't...

... The new floor. That might, uh-- do you think it's a reward, too? A-Another level of the dollhouse to play in?

Probably. 'You did well so here's a little more space and some nice toys'.

[Definitely leaves a sour taste in his mouth.]

It's sick. [this whole thing...]

... At least nobody else will... Who would, after seeing what, what happens to you?

You'd be surprised what people think they can get away with, even when they've seen the consequences if they don't.

It's just... The execution, it's not even the worst part, is it? After what happened... Who knows what happens when we d-die here? Our souls might be...

[after all, only getting away with murder frees you from this place. maybe even death doesn't.]

The Kingmaker doesn't have any hold on our souls.

[He sounds confident enough when he says it. There's no reason why a human would be able to control even death... probably.]
