WEEK 2
Two people are gone from the group. Zagi and Kamui are dead, twenty-five of you are still alive, and the first week in the Vault comes to a close.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning, those klaxons are as annoying as ever but at the very least there aren't any bodies to be found. It can be assumed, perhaps, that you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; one of the previously closed-off section near the vending machine has opened up, revealing a spiral staircase leading up to the next floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

[Yeah, he's holding Yato's masterpiece here, alright.]

Ooh, don't tell me! You wanted a signature, right? That would increase the value.

[ IMPLYING ANYBODY WANTS THIS... ]

[WELL...]

If you're so inclined, I would like it.

[...yeah, he's just rolling with it.]

Well, then! [ He pulls a pen out of god knows where and signs his name with an elaborate flourish, and a little crown for good measure. ] I'll sign as much of anything you want, whenever! Think of it as a blessed item.

I'll keep that in mind.

[He smiles as he takes back the now autographed comic strip, looking at it for a moment before he glances back at Yato.]

Did you draw one for everybody?

Yep, sure did! I couldn't show favoritism at a time like this, after all. Since times are hard, I gotta share my blessings equally.

[ ... Disclaimer: he can't actually produce items that can be described as 'blessed' under these circumstances but details. ]

[Well its not like Bruce knows that.

...and besides, his attempts are appreciated, if anything.]

I'm sure everyone will appreciate them one way or another, even if they don't exactly show it. I suppose the contents are personalized for every individual?

Naturally! It'd be boring if everybody got the same thing. Everybody's different, after all... And if there's one thing we've got, it's time.

[ There's that saying about idle hands... ]

You've certainly put a lot of work into this, then.

[He gives a smile.]

No problem! But if you feel extra grateful, you could maybe say a prayer to me when we get outta here, that would help me out!

[Bruce certainly isn't the praying type, but well...

He supposes he can easily make an exception.]

That wouldn't be a hardship.

Great! You'd be doing me a huge favor if you did... A god's nothing without any believers, after all.

Does the amount of believers equate to your strength as a god?

[...he's been curious for a while.]

Not my strength, no. A god's nature is determined by the human wishes that gave the god life in the first place. But since a god is born of human wishes, that means a god forgotten by humans is in danger or dying. Permanently, that is.

[ As opposed to temporarily, apparently... ]

[That... it does make sense, in its own way. As humans gave the idea so they take away the idea as well--left behind and forgotten, just as so many other things.

It's not pleasant.]

I see. [He says, and his voice is much softer now.] I apologize if the question brings up any painful memories for you.

Aw, nah, don't even worry about it! That's just how we are, it can't be helped. Besides! On the whole, we still live waaaay longer than any normal human could, so it's not like I have anything to complain about.

It still can't be easy, from what you've said. [And honestly living longer its not really that much of an incentive for Bruce... there is nothing to fear about death, really. Everything will end eventually.] I'll make sure to keep you in mind when we're out of here.

Well, I can't ask for more than that! And don't worry, I'll be sure to watch over you and give you some divine protection... somehow or other!

I'm perfectly fine without divine protection. You should give it to others who need it more.

Aw, no need to be polite! Once we get out of here, I'll watch over everybody. I'm not sure how... [ Considering the different worlds thing... ] But where there's a will, there's a way!

We'll figure it out together. [Reassuring smile here, yep.] At least one good thing from this mess is that we've all been able to meet each other.

... Yeah. I think so too! It's like the story about the old guy and the horse.

[ Something about curses being blessings in disguise being curses in disguise being.... so on and so forth, Yato's not too great with fables. ]

[Its okay, Bruce doesn't... remember it that well either. He'll just take Yato's word for it.]

It's good to be able to find something good despite our current situation. It helps everyone, in a way.
