WEEK 2.
Two people are gone from the group. Zagi and Kamui are dead, twenty-five of you are still alive, and the first week in the Vault comes to a close. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning, those klaxons are as annoying as ever but at the very least there aren't any bodies to be found. It can be assumed, perhaps, that you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; one of the previously closed-off section near the vending machine has opened up, revealing a spiral staircase leading up to the next floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. |

[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]
kitchen
I know someone back home who cooks almost as aggressively as you are when she's stressed out. It doesn't turn out nearly so well, though.
[It's quieter than it normally would be, but it's something.]
Do you want to talk? We don't have to, if you aren't feeling it.

[Cherryblod puts what he's got into the oven, sets the timer, and finally turns to face Mettaton. He looks... tired, mostly.]
If you don't mind. It might help.

[Well, at least they're getting to the heart of the matter right away.]
My daughter is a better person than I am - she'd never be able to live with the guilt of having twenty-something lives traded for her own, and I can't do that to her.
...But I can't stop thinking about it either.
no subject
...I know, darling.
[And that much is honest, at least.]
I understand if you would trade all of us for her, you know. It's your daughter against twenty-four people that you've known for...what, a week? So don't talk like you're a bad person for considering, because if there weren't complications in the way then I'd do it, too.
But you're not a bad person for not doing it, either. Look at it this way - if there's a way for him to do this at all, then there's probably a way for us to do it ourselves once we beat him, right?
no subject
[He sounds and looks relieved. He hadn't actually gotten around to realizing that part before.]
Thank you.

I'd really like a hug right now.
[No, he doesn't care that Mettaton's probably not the most comfortable person to hug. He'll be fine.]
no subject
Darling, you don't have to ask me for that! Come here.

It is entirely possible Cherryblod's tearing up right now.
That's also the first in a week.]
no subject
But at the same time, it's not like the logistics of it are hard to figure out and it's not like he's expected to be particularly cuddly, and after a moment one of his hands finds Cherryblod's hair and he's doing...something, anyway. It falls somewhere between proper hair-stroking and just kind of awkwardly headpatting him, and yet it's managing to accomplish exactly neither of those things properly; either way, though, if he notices the tearing-up, then he's not saying anything about it.
Go ahead if you need to; it's fine for now.]
no subject
He's smiling, so that's something.]
Thank you, dear.

Do you want company again tonight?

I still haven't gotten to hear you sing, incidentally.
no subject
But you know what, I'll let you hear something early. Just for you, all right?
no subject
[He really is.]
A talent show sounds fun - I'll have to consider what I could possibly do for it.
no subject
It really is a good idea on her part, though - we could all use something to lift our spirits, I think.
no subject
Maybe, but not all of my talents are suitable for a show. I could beat anyone here at chess, I'm sure.
no subject
[God, that sounds adorably nerdy as hell.]
I'd actually like to play a few games with you, then, if we get a board out of that horrible machine.
no subject
You're on.
