WEEK 5
Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better.

A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not...

Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you'll probably need the distraction after the last trial.

[Mouri spends quite a lot of time of the Sunday in the dojo. He leaves from time to time and returns, and looks like during one of those moments Cherryblod appeared.

[Cherryblod manages to put on a natural-looking smile. He's good at that.

Kogoro is definitely not a person he's going to tell the whole truth to.]

[Mouri grins, almost mischievous. Goodness, it's one thing to hear it from Black and a completely different thing to hear it from Cherryblod.

The natural smile is interpreted as an invitation to delve further, though. Mouri feels at ease with Cherryblod and frankly has no reason to imagine he has anything to hide.

Boy he really has no idea about some of the people in the Vault]

No way! I had imagined you spent most of your life sitting around and drinking tea. I would have never guessed you were the wild type.

Did you really think I could spend five hundred years doing nothing but drinking tea? I love tea, but everyone has to do something with their life. And kids will be kids.

I may have been exaggerating just a little bit. Make that four hundred years and it will be closer to my actual thoughts.

What kind of wild stuff did you use to do? I won't believe it until I hear the details.

Oh, you know. Egging houses, other vandalism, some petty thievery. I ran with a bad crowd.

[This is total BS right here. It was more like 'extortion, racketeering, and - in Cherryblod's case especially - following through on any threats they'd had to make, and getting rid of anyone they wanted gone'.]

[Well that is a tad less amusing but Mouri just shrugs it off. It's easier to forgive the past wildness when it isn't happening in the present. Cherryblod hasn't spent these four weeks egging the bedroom doors and pettily stealing nolo pens around, it is all in the past]

I wouldn't have ever guessed.

A wild past is always forgivable. It doesn't sound to me like anyone got hurt, and it is obvious you have changed.

Besides you are not the only person in this Vault with some youthful misbehavior hidden in their pasts. Lynne-san and Shirazu-kun did some stuff too.

[It isn't like they asked Mouri to keep the secret, he sees no harm on telling Cherryblod]

About time we got a room like this one. It's going to be useful. I hate to think it came at the cost of so many lives, though.

That is always the problem with new floors, isn't it. It's more comfortable for the survivors, but I'd rather have a single floor and our full number still with us.

[A dojo is not worth a life. Let alone this many.]

It's hard to disagree with that.

It's about time to do something to stop all these deaths from happening. Now that we have this large room and these mats I think it's time this week to finally do the self-defense class I had told you about a month ago.

[It's also a great coincidence he received a book about judo, both for teachers and students. The universe has conspired to make this all happen]

Think that's a great idea. Doubt there's anyone here who won't get at least some use out of it.

I would ask her to help me but I think she'd fight me in front of everyone instead of being of help.

A demonstration wouldn't help out at all?

It is a class for beginners, not a pay-per-view wrestling match.

Besides she wouldn't defeat me. We already kinda fought, a month ago when I stayed awake during the night. It was a stalemate.

Alright, alright. No inviting her to teach, I understand. I'm a bit rusty myself on hand to hand or I'd offer.

I'm not sure who I could ask to help. Somebody like Bruce-san would be great but I don't think he knows much about self-defense.

I also doubt he'd agree to let me smash him around for an hour or two.

Gabriel, maybe? It'd be better than beating up a teenager, and I think he'd say yes.

Now that you mention teenagers I was considering Hanamura-kun too. When we talked about this some time ago he seemed interested in this. If Knight-san doesn't accept then I should ask Hanamura-kun.

[Yeah, Mouri ignored you'd rather not to have a teenager beaten up]

Don't be too hard on him. You're an adult, he's a teenager, I'm sure he can handle himself alright but I'd rather not have to nurse any serious injuries.

You don't have to worry about that. I'll be careful if he accepts to help me.

Besides it seems to me he is more of a danger for himself than to anyone else. At least he hasn't been twirling spanners and risking skull fractures anymore.
