WEEK 5 Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Huh, I was wondering when you'd make one of these again. I haven't forgotten I promised not to "cheat".

This one's much harder, so you wouldn't be able to cheat even if you tried! Misa-Misa made sure of that. ...Of course, asking others for help is definitely permitted, though.

I sure did! "Misa-Misa's Happy Sweets" is a primetime staple! It's a cooking show, too! Misa-Misa bakes lots of sweets to make her enemies fat! ...Just kidding!

But Misa-Misa has been taking on more serious projects, too! Just casually, though. She's been alongside a lot of superstars, though, like Hideki Ryuga!

[The hell is Hideki Ryuga. Mouri doesn't think much about that, he can't be expected to know that little detail, right? At least he will try to avoid it and hope Misa won't ask if he knows Hideki Ryuga]

You are so talented! I never thought you knew how to cook sweets. The results must be fantastic!

[Mouri sure is gushing. What he wouldn't do to give a try to any sweets Misa could bake.]

I bet everyone would love if you prepared some sweets for everybody!

Well, you're in luck! If you want to try some of Misa-Misa's sweets, all you have to do is show up to the masquerade on Thursday...

[Oh, there's an invitation here. Mouri continues not being very attentive. He takes the invitation out and reads it quickly]

I see. Uh, I'm not really into large social events but I suppose I could come. Anything to try one of Misa-chan's baked sweets!

...do I really have to come with a mask? I don't know how to make one.

Of course you do! It's the whole point of a masquerade! They're easy to make, though! Misa-Misa will help you if you're having trouble making one!

[May as well give it a try. Mouri has good artistic skills but his manual skills are closer to average, so why not to have some help?]

I'd be honored to, Misa-chan. That's very kind of you.

[As if the matter was settled Mouri starts going towards the Art Room, expecting Misa to follow him]

It's really easy! All you have to do is cut one out from paper and decorate it, after all. Unless you want to be really fancy and make a plaster one! That's probably what Misa-Misa's gonna do. Do you want to be fancy like Misa-Misa?

Kogoro Mouri is a fancy man. It would be improper of him to not to have a mask befitting a man of his class and charisma.

Is that so? Then, Mister Fancy-Schmancy Mouri, you'll have to get the most classy and charismatic mask of them all! Take a seat in the art room, Misa-Misa will get the perfect mold for your face..!

[The mental images are immediately exaggerated as if Misa is going to cover his entire face with plaster]

I d-don't think we need to go overboard, Misa-chan! I trust you know what you're doing, but maybe there's a simpler way to do this?

It's just over the top part of your face! Don't get me wrong, it isn't, like, dangerous or anything...Misa-Misa would never hurt a fly, she swears!

Oh! Oh, I had thought it was going to be the whole face. Oh. Never gone to a masquerade, so when you said mask, um...

[Well that calms Mouri down. It won't be so bad]

Okay, make sure you hold still reeeal quick for Misa-Misa while she puts some vaseline on...and then we just have to put the plaster on over your eyes...don't worry, though! It won't rip your eyebrows off or anything, Misa-Misa promises!

[ It's a pretty huge amount of vaseline she's putting on, but, it's probably better that way; wouldn't want it to stick or anything. ]

Now just hold still while Misa-Misa gets the shapes ready...

[Yeah, Mouri wants to keep his eyebrows, thank you for your consideration.

At least he knows when to obey, because he's completely still. He can talk and be still, thankfully]

Misa-Misa's had it done a couple of times...

Misa-Misa's had to go to lots of big parties before. With celebrities and stuff...some of them were masquerades, so, she knows what she's doing. ...Kind of~

[It is even more late to turn back. The plaster has already started, there is nothing to be done]

I'm often invited to parties with celebrities and stuff but this is the first time I go to a masquerade. No, wait, I did get invited to a Halloween party on a ship, got a disguise and all, and it wasn't half-bad...

[Until someone was murdered and Mouri kind of was humiliated because that damn teenage detective solved it and defied his deductions. It isn't his favorite topic to talk about]

On a boat? Wow...Misa-Misa's jealous! She would definitely get seasick if she ever had to go to a party like that...

[ She just keeps carefully putting it on...thankfully, it's coming out pretty okay so far! She's making certain to be gentle. ]

The ones I'm used to are in big big banquet halls, but, we don't exactly have anything like that here...

It wasn't so bad. A boat is no more than a vehicle like any other, just that it is on water.

[Mouri can't see a thing about the mask, but at least he has relaxed]

It doesn't really matter where you do it as long as it is in a large place. You already got the music room planned for that and that is good enough.
