[Three words: Post-death development.]

I try not to think about it. Even if it's not true that we die when we tell you what we are, mermaids are still very closed off. Most humans don't even believe in us, and other beings we either don't see often or ended up starting some war or another against. We still have stories about love, and people talk about wanting love, but it wouldn't generally last. And besides, they always talk about finding some boy, even in a society that's all women. So there's not much hope of even finding another mermaid who'd like me, and even if she did, would she say? And on top of that, I'm a princess. Duty is always going to be more important.

So no. I can't really think about that kind of thing. ...And don't tell Yato, he'll be insufferable about it.
