Induction.
Today seems to have been an exercise in providing more questions than answers. After all, aside from the rules on the walls, it's not as though there's much here that's going to help you understand what's going on, or why you're here in the first place. Some of you are angry; some are more confused than anything. Some are dealing in the best way that they know how. But perhaps one question remains at the back of mind, regardless of what you choose to make of the situation, and rightly so: Who is responsible for this? It's a question that doesn't seem to have a ready answer; after a while, though, you will receive something. It's not a solution, and it's not a way out, but it's contact – the sound of the public address system crackling to life somewhere above your heads, an indication that someone, somewhere, is aware that you're here and has something to say. 'I trust that all of you had a good night's sleep. Now that you have hopefully familiarized yourselves with your fellow Apprentices, allow me to make a formal introduction myself.' The voice is male, that much is obvious; it isn't recognizable to anyone present, however. 'Welcome and congratulations, new Apprentices of Chronos University. You have been chosen for a valuable exercise of higher learning within these walls. Both the rules and a list of your fellow Apprentices have been provided for you in several locations, and I advise that you study both very carefully. Knowing them well can only serve to help you.' 'As for my own introduction, I am the equivalent of a headmaster to this educational institution. For our time together, you may refer to me as the Wordsmith. I do hope that you all endeavor to make the most of your time spent here, however you may choose.' [OOC: You can be heard just fine through the PA system, so feel free to ask/say anything your little heart desires!] |

First, I want to hear about this from you since I have asked everyone else about it already. You have profiles on the wall listing information about each one of us. Some are correct, some are mostly correct with inaccuracies, and others seem to be nearly made up of fabricated information.
Are you aware of this?
no subject
I'm afraid that you are the one that's incorrect in this case.

Either you aren't telling me the truth, or the other "Apprentices" I asked aren't. But I think it's pretty obvious which of the two is a more reliable source.
Whether or not the information is factual, the fact that some of it is raises concerns. And I don't think you will tell me how you obtained this information, will you?

The profiles are correct. Whether you choose to believe that or not, it remains a fact.

[Not that she thinks people wouldn't lie to a rabbit officer, but...maybe they'd at least try to help.]
Another question: I have noticed that you have taken mostly..."humans". Two animals, a vampire... [She thinks back, but that's all she can recall off the top of her head.] Do you have any particular reasoning for this? Because humans...they don't exist where I am from, and it seems like a massive feat for you to be able to take people away from completely different planets.
[She won't really get too deep into the discussion of other worlds/planets right now, but it bears questioning.]

Alright. Less is more I guess, information wise...
[She sighs this to herself, wracking her brain for other things she might have wanted to ask.]
Besides your status as Headmaster and the title of Wordsmith, is there anything else you're willing to tell us about yourself? Not that you aren't completely justified in hiding your identity, I'm sure...but it seems like a fair trade, what with all of our profiles on display.
[Even just the smallest fragment more of information might give her something. Anything.]

[Seems that you chose the right sort of title for her, there.]
But if you won't talk, then I won't waste my energy pressing you on that any further. But that does lead me to ask...will we have the opportunity to contact you in the future, or is this a one-way sort of deal?

[Judy hasn't had the opportunity to visit the mail room yet.]

Understood. You'll be receiving plenty more questions from me in the future. I do hope I can trust to hear back.
For now, though, I think we are done here.
[She doesn't think he's going to answer her questions in any way that isn't circular and vague, at least not aloud over the intercom. Maybe she'll have better luck privately, and when she can think of more questions to ask.]
