WEEK 1
Now that you've had a chance to yell at the Wordsmith, one thing is very clear. He wasn't lying. There's no escape from this place. You can explore all you like, but there aren't any ways to leave. It seems like there isn't much to do but settle in and get to know your fellow Apprentices. You're free to go wherever you'd like for the most part, but come 10PM the doors to the kitchen and the mail room will shut and lock and nothing you can do will get them to open.

While you might be tempted to sleep in, you'll find that the clock in the foyer goes off every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM without fail. You'll be able to hear it no matter where you are; it seems it's being broadcast over the PA system. You're welcome to go back to sleep after you hear it, but surely you don't want to spend the whole day in bed?

(Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.)

[But after about a second of that he pulls it back together and tries to give a real answer. But the irritation is very clearly in his voice.]

Wherever there's a door, there has to be a crack in the wall. From where it opens and shuts, you know? So feeling along the wall is supposed to help you find that crack, which is where the door is.

[ Mikazuki is at first a little concerned and wonders if Watanuki has a headache, before he then nods in understanding. ]

You sound quite talented at finding things of a hidden nature.

Did you always have to deal with this back home?

Not usually, no. But when there's no obvious door, then it has to be a hidden one.

[Speaking of which, he's going to keep doing that. Keep up, Mikazuki.]

[ The line of thought, anyway. He does try to work at it, so he doesn't fall behind, even if it's a bit clumsy. ]

... I wonder if there might be a door in the floor if we can't find one in the walls.
