WEEK 1.

WEEK 1

Now that you've had a chance to yell at the Wordsmith, one thing is very clear. He wasn't lying. There's no escape from this place. You can explore all you like, but there aren't any ways to leave. It seems like there isn't much to do but settle in and get to know your fellow Apprentices. You're free to go wherever you'd like for the most part, but come 10PM the doors to the kitchen and the mail room will shut and lock and nothing you can do will get them to open.

While you might be tempted to sleep in, you'll find that the clock in the foyer goes off every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM without fail. You'll be able to hear it no matter where you are; it seems it's being broadcast over the PA system. You're welcome to go back to sleep after you hear it, but surely you don't want to spend the whole day in bed?

(Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.)

APPRENTICES REMAINING: 30

[OOC: Welcome to week one of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]
officerhops: (I messed up tonight)

Hey, that sort of thing could be useful to us, right? It's like I was saying to someone else...the only way I could think of someone managing to pull this many people from this many places would be through the use of...I don't know, some sort of teleportation device.

[She climbs up to shelf #3 where there's a bit more space to stand. She can't quite stand up on the shelf but she's more-or-less hanging from it anyway so she can see the titles better.]

I guess that would classify as science, assuming that sort of thing exists in somebody else's world.
alchemicals: ...periodically (006.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2017-01-26 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
What else would you classify something like that as? Magic?

[...Just...poking through these shelves and no...no...no...]
officerhops: (No I won't leave)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-26 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
According to some here? Yes.

[She starts looking herself and immediately finds she's probably not even in the realm of being in the right section but you know what, it helps to be thorough.]

Unless you can have dragons in a world that doesn't have magic.
alchemicals: (015.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2017-01-26 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Why couldn't you? There's nothing saying that dragons are inherently magic, to my knowledge.

[...This is a conversation we're having.]
officerhops: (I'll keep on making)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-26 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
[...he does have a point.]

Is that your way of saying your world has dragons, or am I assuming too much?
alchemicals: (005.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2017-01-26 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
Hah - no dragons, actually, I'm just giving you a hard time.

[It's clearly teasing, though, no worries.]

I'd say we don't have talking animals there, either, but I've heard we've got those within the last few years. They're not like you, though.

[...THEY COME OUT OF SHOU TUCKER'S BASEMENT, THEY'RE APPARENTLY ACTUALLY FUCKING TERRIBLE, HE'S PRETTY SURE THE GUY GOT ARRESTED RECENTLY? but he did very much make animals and they do talk so...]
officerhops: (every day)

I still can't believe this

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
[...well that sure does sound like one hell of a story.]

Oh, really? That's surprising, actually...you're one of the few people here to tell me that. Kimihiro was talking about animal spirits...which also talk, I'm guessing.

[Judy runs a paw down the spine of one of the books, then moves on to the next when it's nothing they're after.]

You'd think talking animals is a weird thing, or something.
alchemicals: (012.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2017-01-27 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah, kind of. Do you guys have a lot of humans where you're from?
officerhops: (No I won't leave)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
No humans at all, actually. You all are the first ones I've ever seen.
alchemicals: (005.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2017-01-27 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
So we're probably a little weird to you too, yeah?
officerhops: (and you had bad traits)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Just a little. Someone told me that humans...are technically animals too, but it's a little hard for me to believe.
alchemicals: (008.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2017-01-27 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Do I want to ask why?
officerhops: (and learn the golden rule)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-27 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Judy shrugs a little, shifting her grip on the shelf.]

I guess...because you don't really look like any animals I've seen? Like, no offense but...you guys are really hairless.

[Elephants are kindof hairless, but humans are not even remotely in the same family.]
alchemicals: (012.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2017-01-28 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
That's fair. Taxonomy isn't really my thing, though, so I can't help you too much there. Unfortunately enough.

Chemistry's where my interests are at.
officerhops: (I'll keep on making)

[personal profile] officerhops 2017-01-28 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh?

[Judy's pulled herself up onto the next to last shelf of this particular bookshelf. So far, there's just...nothing. No scientific texts whatsoever.]

That explains the interest in science.
