WEEK 1 Now that you've had a chance to yell at the Wordsmith, one thing is very clear. He wasn't lying. There's no escape from this place. You can explore all you like, but there aren't any ways to leave. It seems like there isn't much to do but settle in and get to know your fellow Apprentices. You're free to go wherever you'd like for the most part, but come 10PM the doors to the kitchen and the mail room will shut and lock and nothing you can do will get them to open. While you might be tempted to sleep in, you'll find that the clock in the foyer goes off every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM without fail. You'll be able to hear it no matter where you are; it seems it's being broadcast over the PA system. You're welcome to go back to sleep after you hear it, but surely you don't want to spend the whole day in bed? (Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.) You guard a village? I didn't think a demon would want to look out for humans. Christo and Killia didn't seem to like us.

All kinds are different. My clan, we merely wanted to coexist with the villagers. Some of my brethren got out of hand, so a group of us who were able to took to keeping it safe. We had to, it was our...responsibility.

But it was...it was worthwhile. I protected innocents, and they worshiped me. [and feared] Now, it's in a less corporeal form, but I still watch over them.

For the most part. Certainly nothing strange like missing a hundred years or anything.

[He doesn't exactly agree with a couple of the dislikes on there but otherwise. Yep. He's exactly that terrible!]

I don't expect anyone here to condone such things. I'll fully acknowledge that I'm a horrible person! But you're absolutely right - there's nothing to be done about it. Unless someone feels like trying to off me, which would also be hilarious!

At least you're self-aware, and in here that's all to be asked. People knowing and not making excuses for their sins...that is all a god can ask for.

I've never liked people who hide behind their "reasons" for the terrible things they do. It happened with the last Exalt, during the war. Which was really just a campaign to destroy as many of my people as possible. At the very least you can count on me not to hide my atrocities behind something like that!

That is...almost refreshing. [almost] I hope not to hear of them in detail, but it's a different point of view than I've seen in the last thousand years.

[You know, he actually likes Hanyuu. Normally he can't stand people who don't agree with him and openly dislike the way he is, but this? He can tolerate this.]

I'll take that as a compliment. If you ever want to talk about any of that, even if it isn't in detail... I suppose I wouldn't mind indulging you.
