[After 10:00 p.m., the library's... definitely a little different. The tables have lit candles on them, and there are... kind of janky cardboard cutouts set on some of the shelves. An attempt was made, at least, even if there could've been more boxes destroyed in the attempt...

But regardless. There's candles set around a place for some snacks if anyone wants to bring them, and there's also a blanket set on one of the tables. Because clearly, that's where the storyteller's supposed to sit...? Maybe you wanna do it. Maybe you just want to stand or sit or something.

What are the Risen?

Risen are monsters - beings that aren't of this world! They didn't exist until recently; one day they simply started popping up all around like daisies, only much more disgusting and certainly less pretty than any daisies you'll see!

They're corpses, shambling monsters of former warriors and fighters, brought back from the dead through the use of dark magic. They're tough though - they don't die as quickly as a normal person would. And they're hellbent on fighting anything and anyone they see - they'll attack villages and people indiscriminately, all on their quest for revenge for their bloody, untimely demise!

But these nasty, rotting corpses aren't completely mindless! Someone skilled enough with dark magic can control them, summon them into existence to do their bidding! But after summoning them... if they aren't strong enough to control these lifeless beings... they'll be devoured whole.
