SHRIEKING SKULLS WILL SHOCK YOUR SOUL AND SEAL YOUR DOOM TONIGHT
[After 10:00 p.m., the library's... definitely a little different. The tables have lit candles on them, and there are... kind of janky cardboard cutouts set on some of the shelves. An attempt was made, at least, even if there could've been more boxes destroyed in the attempt...
But regardless. There's candles set around a place for some snacks if anyone wants to bring them, and there's also a blanket set on one of the tables. Because clearly, that's where the storyteller's supposed to sit...? Maybe you wanna do it. Maybe you just want to stand or sit or something.
Either way, let's get fucking spooky up in here.]

Well he's going to lead her out of the library, and back towards the foyer-area. It's not until they reach the foyer that he speaks again, and he when he does he sounds very apologetic.]
I'm sorry, for what happened. I thought they would listen to me, if I told them to not provoke ghosts. But I guess it had the opposite effect.

No, no, it... It wasn't your fault, no matter how many were told, aah... I hadn't realized the feelings listening to the stories would stir up.

[He notices things like that.]
But you don't have to listen to them anymore, if you don't want to. There's not many places to go here, but if nothing else you can go back to your room for the night. That's what I'm going to do too, I think.

[She thinks for a moment.]
Though, sleep after all of this doesn't sound like a very good idea, just yet, with everything swimming around in my head.

[Watanuki still wants to go back and yell at them for upsetting Hanyuu, but not if Hanyuu would become more upset because of his actions.]
Unfortunately, there's not much else to do at this hour. Except for walking the halls, and looking for anyone else who's not doing ghost stories.
no subject
...Would...you still like to hear a kind ghost story before the night is done?
no subject
[So yes. Tell him the thing, Hanyuu.]

Once, there was a very lonely demon. She had a small period of happiness, but...tragedy struck, and took her new family from her, leaving only her newborn daughter behind. The demon, sadly, could not raise the girl, as the tragedy sapped all her strength and she had to spend many a year recovering. Sad, but there was someone to raise her daughter for her, and she figured it would be a better life if a demon wasn't her mother.
So, the demon recovered and continued her job of hunting her brethren who'd done wrong down, when she could. Ten years after the tragedy, she returned to the small home she'd lived in...only to discover a young girl there, who could see her.
"Who are you, miss?" The girl asked.
The demon replied she was called the god of this land, shocked that someone could speak with her. She asked the girl what she was doing here, by herself.
"I live here," the girl replied. She said she wanted to live in the place her parents, who had protected the village so adamantly, had, now that she was old enough. The girl continued, "your name can't just be the one the village gave you. Do you have another?"
The demon gave her name, but the girl couldn't say it. ...Instead, the girl told her, she would call her the name of her most precious person. That...was the demon's own name, the one she'd been known by when she lived with her family. Foolishly, though given this wonderful second chance, the demon didn't tell the girl - her daughter - who she was, because she felt she had no right, after abandoning her for so long. It was alright, though. The demon...had no idea for a long time, but her daughter knew who the demon was, either at that meeting or shortly after.
It was a miracle. No one else could see her, not even, when she grew old enough, her daughter's husband or daughter of her own, but that was alright. One person, the most important person, could...and though a tragedy would again...take her from her family, she spent the rest of her days by her daughter's side, advising her...and watching her grow.
Though ten years late, the demon was allowed to love and cherish her daughter, her only family.

Still, he smiles warmly.]
That's a lovely story. The demon and her daughter, they are both very lucky.

[She's...not going to tell him about the second tragedy, because that would paint the whole thing in a much sadder light, but.]
They- ...we were able to have a relationship long after I should've been unable to. Whatever god made that possible, I wish I could thank them.

[And since Hanyuu was willing to share her story, maybe he should respond in kind.]
Would you like to hear a happy ghost story?

[Let him tell about some of the experiences he's had.]

There was once a young boy who felt very alone. His parents had died recently, and he was an only child, so he had nobody he was particularly close with. But one day, that boy made a friend on the way home. The other boy wasn't wearing the first boy's school uniform, but somehow the two boys always met up on the way home. For weeks they walked home together, talking about different things in their lives and getting to know each other better.
On the first boy's 10th birthday, he asked his friend to come over. But the friend said he couldn't, because that was the day he was to disappear. As he said that, he started to fade away. See, that friend was a ghost, and the boy who had befriended him had no idea. And even though they had only been friends for a few months, the boy had given the friend the courage to finally pass on to the next life, and because of that the boy felt happy. Even though his friend was gone for good, he had gone on to a better place.

Yours was lovely too. Was that the first time you'd ever seen a ghost?
no subject
It's the first time I realized they could be nice too.
no subject
...Then I'm even more glad for it, Watanuki.

I just wish I had found that out sooner, I feel like I missed out on some good chances before then.

[Well, his profile DID say he's 117. If that's to be believed.]
-so there's plenty of time to meet other spirits as well.
