The past five days have come and gone, though exactly how easily they've done so is debatable; some have been trying to press onward in their optimism and faith that things will get better, while some seem convinced that things will only go downhill from here. However people have chosen to see it, though, clearly this week hasn't been all bad – after all, attempts at encouraging unity among the group seem to have been at least reasonably successful. ...Seem to have been. Friday dawns like the rest of the week before it – the clock chimes the hour at seven, the doors to the kitchen and the mail room unlock, and the building is quiet. It would seem that maybe the night passed reasonably quietly – were it not for the large red smears on the walls and floor of the southeastern side of the dormitory. It looks like somebody decided to be a damn overachiever and took some initiative of their own. >Explore?

[The fox holds it out a bit more for her to see, showing off the small chip.]

It looks like it came off of something else... but it's covered in that red-stuff--- did you guys figure out what was by the way? It wasn't blood, right?

[Heightened sense of smell is one good thing to have here... and he definitely didn't smell anything super blood-like despite those stains.]

I don't know exactly what it was. Christo was getting more up-close and personal with it, so he'd know more about that.

[In the meantime, Judy veeery carefully picks up the chip from the center of Nick's paw, holding it in her much smaller one to get a better look.]

I don't think it was blood though, no.

[Speaking of not-blood...Judy's going to look a little closer at this chip for a moment.

Is the red stuff on the chip the same as what caused the smears? And, can Judy tell at all what material the chip itself might be? Or is it just a nondescript silver piece?]

[It looks to be the same red stuff, yes! As for the material... it's some kind of metal. It's kind of difficult to tell what it is though, given that it's such a small piece.]

[Okay, so no blood on this either. Judy isn't sure if that's better or worse.

She looks back up at Nick, holding the chip out slightly.]

It's metal, whatever it is. We'll have to get a bag from the kitchen to put it in.

How in the world did you see this?

[She didn't, like...think you really were a cop, or even cared to look for anything, Nick.]

[Nick watches Judy look it over, and at her comment he gets a grin on his face and sits up a little straighter, a little bit proud.]

Impressed?

[It was a tiny little chip on the floor.. but seeing as he's a fox, his eye-sight is pretty great... it's nothing to actually toot his own horn over.]

I'm surprised you didn't find it first, seeing how you're closer to the floor.

[Judy makes a bit of a face, then looks to make sure where the undetermined red stuff is before she starts walking, intending on heading straight for the kitchen. And then washing her paws a bunch cause even if this stuff is harmless she can't help but want to.]

I was looking in a different part of the hallway. I'm surprised you were looking at all.

I am an officer, aren't I?

[Nick says this as he straightens up and starts following, because he just can't seem to leave her alone. Plus, she has his evidence in her hand still.]

What kind of officer would I be if I just sat on my butt while everyone else was investigating, huh?

[officerhops]

[Judy rolls her eyes, carefully just...not looking that way when they pass Adelina's room.]

Officer or not...you did find some crucial evidence. Let's get this bagged up before something else happens.

Yeah, yeah. Remember that I was the one who found it when it becomes the key to this investigation, okay?

[He says that with a smirk as he shoves his hands into the pockets of his uniform, and walks at a brisker pace to head for the kitchen first.]
