i'll wait, so show me why you're strong
[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.

Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.
After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

I think I'm gonna be one of them. I've seen some pretty messed up stuff, but nothing like that.

[He's not even sure he's seen anything even remotely close...]
Anyway, on a different subject that's less horrifying -- I don't think we've met yet.
[He shifts the plate into one of his hands then, and holds out a paw.]
The name's Nick. Nick Wilde.
no subject
[yep.]
Phi.
[Better to make it official, yes.]
no subject
Well Phi, you've got a mind darker than mine if you thought those looked more like tentacles.
[He'll take his paw back then, and get another cookie.]
Though, now that you brought it up that's all I can think about.... thank you for that terrifying thought.

[Keyword try, because it's hard for her to think about anything else too.]
Considering... everything, though, there might not be much for me to talk about that won't be just as bad.
no subject
[Two people did just die.. so that's kind of to be expected.]
Well, since the horrible ice has been broken I present you with this question: how long do you think it'll be 'till someone snaps next? A couple weeks? A day?
[he already lost a bet on this same subject once might as well lose it again]
no subject
[She's not going to actually wager, but...]
I give it a week, tops.
no subject
[Well that's what he lost to last time, so...]
I'll give it three days.
[you're bad at this nick]
no subject
[and also that she needs to say why that is...]
no subject
[It's.. dark, and a bit pessimistic. But he wouldn't be surprised if someone was planning another murder right now just because someone already sparked the fire, so to speak.]

no subject
[...but]
But I'm not so sure that means no one will try.. if they think they can get away with it.

I don't think we'll have to worry. We solved that mess of a murder so we'll solve whatever next big idea comes along, and they'll get to visit with our little octopus friend down there.
no subject
[As many times as they need to.]
...even if this time I don't feel like I did that well.
no subject
[It was the ripped cloth that solved the case in the end, after all.. not the knife or anything.]
no subject
[Wait.]
Dammit, I'm gonna need to come up with a different kind of pizza to bake.
