[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.



Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.

After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

[She nods.]

This book looks.... interesting. It's about a man who thinks he is destined to be saved-- I'm not sure what that means? Some sort of human religion, I believe. He and a man named Martinus commit crimes together, because they believe it doesn't matter, according to this summary.

[ravagers]

Hm.

[ Color her interested, actually. ]

Maybe they think that... no matter what they do, they'll be okay, in the end.

[ ... Yikes, that hit a nerve she wasn't expecting! ]

[iaspis]

...Yes, I think that's it. Because they believe they can do no wrong.

[....it's probably not going to be a happy story.]

[ravagers]

[ She makes a bit of a face. ]

That doesn't sound like a very nice story. [ She pauses. ] If you read it, do you want to tell me how it goes?

[iaspis]

[No, it really doesn't. Maybe she should look for a happier book??]

[ravagers]

I'll look forward to it.

[ She smiles a little. ]

Oh, have you had any of the food or tea? It's all really yummy.

[iaspis]

[Jasper shakes her head.]

No, I haven't tried anything yet. What do you recommend?

[She's still not used to this whole eating thing, but she's going to avoid turning it down.]

Hm... If you want something lighter, there are fruits and vegetables. But if you've got a sweet tooth, the cookies aren't too bad, as well as the pancakes.

Or if you wanna go all out, wrap some fruit in a pancake.

[iaspis]

....I think I'll do that.

[So she's going to head over and make a fruit pancake, approaching Vanille again after a moment. She's still holding the pancake on a plate, but at least it's there? Maybe.

She's silent for a long moment before speaking again.]

I am a soldier. I've seen Gems broken before, more times than I can count. But I've never seen anything quite like that before.

[ Ah... This is important. Vanille turns her full attention to her. ]

Gems... broken? If a Gem gets broken... they die?

[She nods.]

That's correct. A broken Gem can't be healed.
