[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.



Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.

After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

[Later that evening, Mercy slides a note under Lusamine's door.]

Lusamine -

I wanted to take the time to apologize for what happened earlier. The last thing I should have done, evidence or not, was accuse those boys. They didn't deserve to be put through that, and neither did you. I've already talked to both of them, but I thought it best not to interrupt you.

I don't know that any of us are exactly all right after what happened, but I hope you aren't feeling completely awful. That entire trial was a travesty, and I'm going to do my absolute best to keep it from happening again.

[It takes a little bit for Lusamine to try to get a reply out--she's plenty wound up over what happened, that they looked like suspects for even a moment. She had avoided bringing them up because certainly they couldn't have done it...]

Ms. Dr. Ziegler,

Thank you for your apology. I realize that we had to look at every possible angle, and I do not fault you for that. There was simply no way those boys could have done something so cruel and heartless to a girl like Adelina. I was wound up over the possibility of something happening to them. I'm certain that it must not have been good for them, either, so thank you for following up with them as well.

I am not sure how I am feeling at this time. I've done the anger at Ms. Ushiromiya for such a callous, horrific act, and I feel terrible that I did not speak to Adelina before something happened to her. She deserved better. So much better. I just hope that what we've seen today will deter people from acting further.
