[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.



Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.

After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

Yeah. I miss it a lot, but... water changes and adapts, and so can I. It'll be there when we find a way out.

I know it's been only a week... [ yep, definitely only a week and not 1600 years ] but I really miss my home.

[iamthatsea]

The Emulan order holds water in regard above all other things, and... well I can't here, but usually I can control it and heal things with it.

[ HAHA SURPRISE SHE'S A HEALER THIS IS ALL A LITTLE. ROUGHER. THAN SHE LETS ON. ]

But that's not working here! Which is sort of like being without a limb, but uh. Change and adapt. Surely the Bluemother is testing me.

[ She nods. ]

I know what you mean... Being without magic when you've known it all your life is really hard, huh?

[ Maybe not her whole life, but... eh, close enough. ]

[iamthatsea]

Yeah. I've been managing, but... this place is really, really different from Akopos.

[ravagers]

Mm, it's way different from Gran Pulse. [ But she smiles a little. ] Well, at least we can be all lost and confused together.

[iamthatsea]

Yup. Lost and confused but figuring things out.

[ravagers]

I think we're doing pretty great so far. We figured out that fire thing in the kitchen.

[iamthatsea]

Yeah! There you go, we're good at figuring things out. I know I've already learned a lot here in general.

[ Because you didn't know a lot, Alani, you lived in a cave with a bunch of waterbending snakes. ]

Me, too. [ She looks a little sheepish, though. ] I feel really silly sometimes, not knowing things that everyone else knows, though.

[iamthatsea]

Hey, if you feel bad about it, I didn't know what pants are. Or what laundry is, I just thought it was a sink room!

[ravagers]

Oh, I'll have to show you how to wash clothes, then! I've heard there's a machine that does it, but washing by hand is what I'm used to.

[iamthatsea]

Well Hanyuu kind of... did that already, she found me with my head in a sink meditating? Which is awkward, in retrospect, but she was cool with it. But if you want to do laundry together too, we can do that!

[ravagers]

[ Huh. ]

Hanyuu seems to be real good at that. [ She nods. ] I'll let you know next time I've gotta do it, okay? Or, you can let me know, too.

[iamthatsea]

I guess even gods do laundry. [ She nods. ] Will do! It's a... friendship-date? That expression is really confusing.

[ravagers]

Friendship-date... [ She laughs a little. ] I like how that sounds.
