[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.



Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.

After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

You're welcome. [ Well, look at that smile. Vanille's eyes sort of soften, too. ] She's my best friend and my partner, and one of the greatest warriors I know. She wields a lancer, taller than she is, and she's the best at it. She can take down a fully-grown behemoth all by herself, no sweat. [ She pauses. ] But she's not just physically strong... She's really brave. She's always been there to protect me and make sure I'm doing alright. And she's not afraid to speak her mind, ever.

[ She laughs lightly. ]

If you think I can hit hard, it's nothing compared to Fang.

[uncouthhatcher]

Sounds like you've got yourself one hell of a friend there! Man, I wish I could meet her, a gal like that's gotta be a looker.

[beat him up fang]

But seriously, she sounds great! How long've you two known each other? How'd you meet?

She's really pretty, yep!

We met when we were kids, in Oerba's orphanage.

Oh-- mm-hmm. [ ... this conversation took a heavy turn, wow. ] Truth be told, I don't remember my parents.

Oh. [...] That sucks. Do you think about them sometimes anyway?

[What they could be like and stuff.]

[ravagers]

Hmm... sometimes I wonder. But everyone in Oerba is so much like a family anyway, so... sad as I am that I never got to know the people who made me, I never thought I was missing much.

[uncouthhatcher]

Pretty different than the other orphan I knew, and he ended up findin' his family anyway, so I guess he ain't an orphan anymore.

Can't say he was very happy to learn about them though.

... Silver doesn't want him to say anything to anyone about stuff like this, but it's not like he's named names; Gold shrugs, looking away.]

They just weren't the kinds of people he thought they'd be. That's all.

[ She nods. ]

I think I can understand that. [ Hmm. ] I hope that guy doesn't get mad for you telling me that.

Eh, he'll never find out, but he'd be damn pissed if he did, yeah. It's no problem!
