Trustfell 4: Trust Fall or Die Hard ([personal profile] trustwellness) wrote in [community profile] trusthell2017-01-29 11:44 am

WEEK 2.

WEEK 2

Adelina and Kyrie Ushiromiya are dead.

Regardless of how you felt about them and whether or not you mourned their passing, life goes on. It seems the Wordsmith intends to make good on the rules he's left for you all.

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Either way, it seems there's nothing to do but move on - or, perhaps, move down. Another door in that holding area near the elevator seems to have opened up, leading into a corridor and a stairwell that seems to lead you somewhere beneath the dormitories, and eventually onto a new floor altogether.

Go ahead and explore all you like; after all, you did well at completing your lessons this past week.

[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

[She watches him as he works, making sure not to speak since he seems pretty into his work. It's kind of like watching Rita work when she's invested in her studies, and it's calming just because of that. It really makes her miss Rita, a lot.]

Have you figured anything out? You looked like you were working pretty hard.
neverheardofhim: (angery eyebrows)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-01 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[He shook his head. In truth, he had figured something out -- that he was out of his element. Even with his rudimentary knowledge, given the right combinations of chemicals and alloys from back home, he might have been able to produce something. But while he had no doubt that in the hands of someone like Kimbley, or even anyone more familiar with the functions of this world, the tools at his hands might be particularly useful, in Varric's, they meant nothing.]

Unfortunately, kid, I'm out of my element here. [He lifted a hand a pointed at one of the labels.] None of this is what I used to mess with back home.
firstaid: (Clueless)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-02-02 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
I see.

[She honestly sounds disappointed. The chemicals aren't something she's familiar with, so she thought perhaps someone could figure it out and then tell her what they do. She's not reckless enough to randomly mix them together.]

What kinds of things did you do back home, Varric?
neverheardofhim: (srs bsns)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-02 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Her tone will earn him a look, one of confusion. Why someone could sound disappointed over him being out of his element was a little odd. He didn't bother to ask though, because Estelle stumbled onto his favorite subject: himself. It was enough of a distraction.]

A little bit of this, a little bit of that. My day job was writing, but usually that gets interrupted by general world-saving business. When I have time between all that, I manage a spy network. It's... not as cool as it sounds.
firstaid: (Books!)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-02-02 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you write?

[Clearly, that's the part she latches on to the most. Then again, he's seen how much she loves books so it shouldn't be a surprise at all.]

I suppose that makes sense given that story you told. One day I wish I could be a writer myself.
neverheardofhim: (leaning over musing)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-03 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
I do. I have a few serials published by now. [Is he glowing with pride? Is his ego rearing its head? Please vote yes to all of the above.]

I'm sure you'd make a great writer.
firstaid: (prayer)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-02-03 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That's so amazing. [She'll definitely feed that ego of his.]

And would I? I suppose I could if I tried.
neverheardofhim: (counting the reasons why this is bullshi)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-04 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe I'll tell you one of my stories at some point. Not the same as reading it, I don't think, but the impact will still be there.

[Varric gave her a nod.]

We're here to learn, aren't we? Maybe I'll teach you how to get down to the nitty gritty of writing. Would you like that?
firstaid: (happy happy)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-02-04 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
[She clasps her hands together.]

Yes! I would like both of those! Your stories and how to write. Oh, that would be so wonderful if you could do that.

[Clearly, that is a yes and not just her trying to appease him.]
neverheardofhim: (these kinda look like bedroom eyes)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-04 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright. We'll start with some of my stories. Maybe they'll kick up some inspiration. [Always prioritize himself, in situations like this. Plus it just made sense.]

In the meantime, we'll get you some paper, and you can write down the kind of stuff you think you'd like to write about.
firstaid: (Hopeful)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-02-04 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I would like that.

[Hey, she can feed egos. She's pretty good at it.]

And I'll brainstorm as you tell me stories. I have some in mind, however, I think a little more inspiration would help.
neverheardofhim: (headtilt)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-05 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Alright. Good deal. [He straightened up, taking a step toward the door (intending to grab her paper and pens to work with, but then stopped.]

Before I get going, I need to do some brainstorming of my own. What kind of story would you like to hear, Princess?
firstaid: (contentment)

[personal profile] firstaid 2017-02-05 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
I like happy stories where the heroes earn their happy ending. Even bittersweet fairytales at times are nice as well.

[So happy things. Then again, one of her favorite stories is about a brother and sister who get separated, but they saved the world! She's got some tastes.]
neverheardofhim: (headtilt)

I hope you don't mind if i end it here!

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-05 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Varric paused for a moment, listing out his own personal stories one by one. It didn't make for an obvious choice, but with some thought and tweaking, he could manage.]

Alright. I've got an idea. You just wait here, and then we'll get started.

[With that, he puttered into the hall. When he returned. He would return in a short while, paper in hand, and launch into the first two parts of the Tale of the Champion.]

[The third just... didn't have the right ending for her.]
