[This week, Varric opted to take a page from Vanille’s book. Gathering everyone together after the roller-coaster that the first trial had been proved to be somewhat cathartic for himself. He hoped that it would prove to do the same for the others.]

[He wasn’t alone, of course, having found himself blessed with the most ragtag team of chefs and party-planners. He might have had words for and thoughts on Elda and Kimbley, Mikazuki was welcome company, and he wasn’t about to turn away potential allies, even in a fight as simple as cooking dinner.]

[Once everyone’s set to a task, baking a cake, brewing tea, or stirring stew (the only task Varric could think to assign Elda to), Varric excused himself to his room. His first task was writing up cards, each personally titled and signed by Varric.]

Food in the Library. 5 p.m. Don’t spend the night alone.

[Each note was slid under a door and accompanied by a single rap on the wood.]

[With his tasks completed, Varric returned to the kitchen to put out any potential fires and, with luck, set the food out. A table in the library would be adorned with plenty of tea, cake, pancakes courtesy of Viktor, and stew thanks mostly to Varric (sorry, Elda).]

[Go ahead, Watanuki. ...Weavile watches both of them curiously while stuffing cake in his face.]

[Watanuki waits for a moment, before he ultimately sighs and grabs some of the stew. Not much, but it's some. And he'll eat one bite of it dramatically, so that Silver can see that he is eating.]

See? I'm not starving now.

It's not about being starving.

[He doesn't look particularly angry, but he's still serious.]

You need food to survive. You're no good if you don't eat. Not to you or the people you care about.

Don't skip out on it.

[Okay, that? That gets a guilty look out of Watanuki. He at least has the presence of mind to look away too, and not meet Silver's eyes.]

I-I'm not skipping anything. Don't you see me surviving here? I look the same as I did when we all arrived, don't I?

Good. Then next time, just grab some instead of asking me if I'm gonna watch you until you do.

[Which is accompanied by a pat on the shoulder. He's made his point, and there's no point in ragging on him for too long.]

It's also frustrating how much Silver reminds Watanuki of a certain other guy, someone he hasn't actually thought about much in the last couple of weeks, but now that the thought has been put in his mind he can't get rid of it.]

Then either he's clueless to it too, or he likes it and thought you would stop if you knew what it was.

[Watanuki's bets are heavily on the former.]
