[It... definitely takes a while for the weekly after-execution note to arrive, but it does --- kind of scrawly and on ripped paper rather than nice stationery.]

[Anyway, in the dining room, there's plenty of mugs set out, with a janky looking arrow sign pointing into the kitchen to where you can get your hot cocoa. On the table, there's Vichyssoise, a pot of green tea, and some booze. There's also a cookie tray on the floor away from the table on which to burn the Wordsmith and Kimbley effigies, which are handily placed near the food on the table.

...also if you go in the kitchen without shoes on just. Watch the northern corner. There's no kidneys, but there's a lot of broken plates there for some reason...]

[ Jasper is actually the first person on his mind once things are settled. He's not gonna come visit her alone though, as he actually went to go bake a cake first before knocking on her door.

He figures she might not want to talk, which is fine if she doesn't, but she's getting the cake either way.]

[She opens the door. She doesn't look too happy, but that's not a surprise.]

[She sounds pleasantly surprised.]

I... don't always remember to eat; Gems don't actually need to.

I did. You like sweet things, right?

Even if you don't have to eat, I think it's still important. [ He tilts his head, not sure if she wants him inside or not. But as long as she takes the cake he'll be satisfied.]

[She looks pleased by the cake, and takes it after a moment. She'd eat anything, really. But sweet things are certainly her favorite.]

Do you.... want to come inside?

Sure. [ He'll step in then, trying to give her as much space as he needs.]

I know a lot of them were caught up with Gold and Silver but...you cared about Kimbley didn't you?

I did.

[It's probably not really a shock he meant something to her, considering they were apparently close enough that Kimbley was willing to kill everyone but her.]

...I don't know what I'll do now, to be honest.

I'm not going to say I liked what he had planned, but I don't blame him, and I'm not gonna judge him for it.

[ He kinda can't.]

You keep surviving.

...Yes.

Surviving is the only way now. We've lost nearly half of our original number, now. The odds aren't in our favor.

If we lose any more who are capable of combat....

Is there really that few of us left?

We don't just have the Wordsmith to worry about.

That shadow monster, that can devour people....

I'm not sure how we're supposed to fight it with our skills sealed. Fire just made it worse.

[ Yeah, this isn't good.]

The odds aren't very good right now.

Without an idea of how to harm it, it's a threat we can't afford to ignore.

I'd like the chance to use ice against it, but that's impossible.

Maybe there's a way to regain our powers.

[She nods.]

That's right. I tried to summon my weapon, and was unable to. But then I found it in the machine, and it was... strange, not something that should happen.

It's not usable in the form it's in, either.

[ That earns a frown from him.]

I've tried everything but- [ He probably shouldn't finish that sentence, so he's just gonna try to pivot.]

I used to have an ability that was taken from me, by someone. I thought what the Wordsmith did was similar, but if you got part of your weapon back maybe there's a way we can get the full power of what was taken from us back.

[iaspis]

Maybe. I wouldn't know how-- I'm not sure how he got my helmet in the first place. But if he took our powers, he must have had a means to do so.

I can't imagine it's something that was easily done, but at the same time, if he did it, there must be a way to reverse it.
