[...so, shortly after breakfast, there's a note posted to the refrigerator door (and well, shoved under Elda's door, all things considered) in handwriting that's come to be really easily recognizable in its jankiness.]

YO. WE HAVE PAINTS. WE HAVE SPRAY PAINT. WE ARE ALLOWED TO DO WHATEVER WE WANT TO THE WALLS AS LONG AS WE DON'T BREAK THEM.

LET'S MAKE THE ACADEMY'S WALLS OUR CANVAS.

BE IN THE ART STUDIO AT 6:00.

[At the appointed time, when those interested walk into the art studio, they'll see that holy shit, Guzma got a lot of paints out of the storage room and put them all over the tables. There's a lot of stuff there, ready for everyone to grab and spread out all over the academy and paint all over everything.]

[ . . . Okay she's - ]

You know what, I'd like to see that! So that's a good idea! I'll make some bats then!

[ravagers]

[ that gives her an idea. ]

I bet we could even paint a carbatcle!

[matchbreaker]

What's that, a bat bunny?

[ This girl . . . ]

[ravagers]

A carbuncle but with bat wings instead of ears!

[matchbreaker]

[ Okay that- is a little funny ]

So it has bat wing ears?!

[ She snorts at that. ]

[ravagers]

You've got it! It'll be absolutely adorable!

[matchbreaker]

[ Pfffthahah ] That's great! That sounds so stupid! Let's do it!

[ravagers]

You'll love it!

[ ... probably. Anyway, once they've reached a good spot, Vanille paints a carbuncle on the wall. ]

[matchbreaker]

[ Elda will watch, of course! But that's boring so she's also making some stylized bats nearby on the wall with her own purple paint ]

[ravagers]

[ Vanille stands back to admire their work, and she nods. ]

Excellent work!

[matchbreaker]

Oh, is yours done?

[ Who accurate is it with this new fangled spray paint? Elda's a bit blobby, she's not used to this! But she is going to study this bat... bunny. Thing. ]

[ravagers]

[ Kind of accurate? It's still a little lumpy in places, and one of the wingears is fatter than the other, but it's not bad. ]

Done as it'll ever be, I think.

[matchbreaker]

[ Hmmmmmm...

Hmmm...

... Snort. ]

Yeah, that does look silly.

[ Aw well, she pulls back and- ]

Let's make a little marching parade of 'em.

[ravagers]

Silly but cute!

[ She absolutely approves of that. ]

Through the whole place?

[matchbreaker]

Until we think of something better or it gets boring, sure! We can have it dot the hall.

[ravagers]

Sounds like a plan! Let's get to it, then.

[ CARBATCLES, EVERYWHERE. ]

[matchbreaker]

[ DEFINITELY.

Elda actually makes her own too, trying to copy Vanille's design. She also draws little batons on them - well, above them. It might not be clear what those are. But she's trying to do the whole parade thing literally... ]

[ravagers]

[ Oh, huh. Vanille takes a cue from Elda and draws little drums on straps around the creatures' necks; some of them even get hats! ]

[matchbreaker]

[ You know, as best you can with a limited spray can color palette.

Elda only took two colors, really.

... This probably looks garish against the red walls ]

Ah, this one should have a fez, though?

[ As she gets to the end of the hallway. How do you represent a fez when the wall is red... ]

[ravagers]

[ It definitely looks garish, but TAKE THAT WORDSMITH. ]

Eh? What's a fez?

Those silly little red hats the shriners used to wear.

[ As if that explains everything. ]
