Love of mine, someday you will die, but I'll be close behind
Please join us in the greenhouse should you feel able or need company. There will be food and comfort. None of us should be alone right now.
-Hanyuu, Jasper, and Silver
[That's the note that gets slid under everyone's doors after such a somber and saddening trial; it's not like it's going to be a big ordeal anymore given how few of them there are, but that doesn't mean that they should spend it alone.
The location of their setup is the greenhouse! ...The greenhouse has had a new addition; there is a massive blanket fort set up using an absurd amount of rope, blankets, and duct tape. The blankets span across three trees to make a considerable amount of space roughly shaped like a triangle for them to hang out under. Under the fort is a small pile of scissors taken from the sewing and art rooms. Next to them are a couple of flower crowns. They're relatively simple and don't involve many different flowers, but they're good examples of what the pile of scissors are there for.
There's also food, of course; a blanket is laid out on the floor with a large set of plates, a massive amount of eggs and rice, some of Elda's spicy fries, and... Sandwiches. Jasper's made everyone sandwiches, and the sandwiches are absolutely absurd in size due to how many cold cuts she's stacked into them. But don't worry! They aren't all meat. There's a lot of mustard, too. Luckily, they're still of a reasonably edible size.]

I truly hate to say it, but...I had hoped for it, because the other possibility would have made matters unbearable.
[This week sucks, feelings suck, why do you people make this suck so much ugh.]
What about yourself, Elda? Talk to me.

... The day the incentive was announced, I knew immediately what I thought could happen. It... the day itself was terrifying to me. [ She's not talked about that with anyone yet. She sort of lets that hang in the air, and shakes her head. She quickly moves on to: ]
Now, though? Now I'm more infuriated with Wordsmith than anything. His words at this last trial were more barbed than at any other. I wonder if perhaps he tires of his experiment.
no subject
Still...]
I don't doubt that. He's waiting for an excuse to off the lot of us, I wager. Because we aren't demonstrating what he wants.
Some researcher he is, hm? That he can't handle the true results.
no subject
She looks around to see if Hanyuu is within earshot. Seeing she's not, Elda looks at Lusamine hard and: ]
Actually, Lusamine. Might I give voice to that terror, to you? ... Please.
[ She... needs to talk about it with someone. Even if it's ended up coming to nothing, it's...
Even now, she doesn't know how to handle it. ]
no subject
[Fair's fair, and it sounds like Elda really needs it at this point.]
cw: suicide talk
... I knew, the moment we were given that incentive, that if that damned man would allow it, Hanyuu would kill herself to achieve it. And it was confirmed to me when she locked me out of her room for a spell. It ... I knew then that I needed to mail the Wordsmith myself, and he confirmed that sure enough, suicide was a valid solution to our problem. Until I saw her at the meeting I... no, even after I-
... I was afraid.
So afraid.
cw: suicide talk
Yeah, that she definitely understands. She doesn't move much, even if she feels like she should do something. It's terrible to think, really...]
...That is understandable. Even if it was for their sake, she would have left you alone, once she had done such a thing. She did not know how badly it would effect you, for her to leave in such a manner. It's quite understandable to be afraid of losing someone so precious.
I hope Silver's words were enough to make her understand that it is the wrong way to go about it.
cw: suicide talk
... Not until that night. [ She... ] I didn't get to read them, but I know she must've written the farewell letters, the instructions for our trial. She must've been prepared to die until the exact moment she realized it would hurt me.
[ And... ]
But... but how strong can that be? If the next incentive is worse or-
[ Or even now, she- ] What regrets she must feel now-
cw: suicide talk
Elda. This is something you need to sit her down and talk to her about. She may be a goddess to the lot of us, but...she's your love. She needs to fully understand that she's needed and wanted here, alive and well by your side. More than what any motive that would convince her to sacrifice herself.
[It's said softly, though, and a little unsure.]
Not...at this very second, obviously. But that level of fear you feel--it's going to consume you, from the sound of it.
cw: suicide talk
[ . . . Inhale ]
I ... will. We already did, to some extent, but the matter feels strangely unsettled to me.
[ Seeing that as something to finish the the topic, Elda shakes her head, rolls her neck, and then... sort of half-faceplants into Lusamine's chest. She whispers this next part, and it's at once a thanks and an apology: ] I needed to share this with someone, lest I let it fester. Heavens above, too much has festered in me before now.
no subject
It is no trouble. Don't you worry. I'm glad you'd trust me with something like this. And I feel much better, knowing you have gotten it off of your chest.
[Lusamine runs a hand through Elda's hair, humming a bit.]
no subject
[ She laughs, sort of nuzzling in here because that hand in hr hair feels nice. She wants to stay here... just for a little bit, at least ]
Very little indeed, these days.
no subject
[It's said easily. Who ever thought they'd get to this point?]
no subject
You are my best friend too, Lusamine.
[ because if Hanyuu's her lover the slot's open, right??? ]
no subject
I'm glad. You make this place bearable, you know.
no subject
... Lusamine, did you try to open your heart this week, as I asked of you?
no subject
I spoke with Watanuki some on Sunday. Silver came by my room earlir and did my hair, as well. Guzma and I played a game from the Kalos region with our Pokemon. I spoke to Hanyuu in the greenhouse, even if it started as a worry she was going to break rule 3. And I tried to teach Mikazuki how to swim.
[It's better than what she did last week, at least.]
And...I think I am going to apologize to Estellise, for my actions. I have not been very fair to her.
no subject
She's glad. ]
You did tell then, Lusamine. As well as any might expect.
[ She said, reaching her arm around to pat her on the back ]
And if you think that sounds like a good idea, go for it! Especially after today.
no subject
Mismagius, be a dear and visit room 29. Estellise lives there.
[She goes off, then, and with that taken care of...
Lusamine...kind of pauses a bit, pulling Elda closer.]
...I suppose I did, but I...
[There's...still worries. A lot of worries.]
...Never mind.
no subject
... Nothing you could say could be as dark as my admission, or the thoughts we all have. Tell me, if you like.
[ But if she would rather it go unsaid that's fine to. Elda doesn't seem to be pushing one way or other thing, but she was pulled in so like? Of course she should say something.
... Also nice use of ghost. ]
no subject
[It's not a nice question, and she knows that. But all the same, it's eating at her. A lot.]
no subject
I don't know. Like I said, he told me it was to us to assume if action or victory would be what was necessary.
no subject
...Very well, then.
no subject
However. [ She- ] I do not believe this is the end.
[ She- ] ... Though I have no basis for that belief.
no subject
[She, of all people, would know.]
