romance and murder go so well together
[ If the colorful posters from Tuesday weren't enough, Yato has redoubled his efforts for today and slapped these up all over the place:

We are admittedly not entirely sure what the heck the catgirl is there for, but she's there. Anyway, in the dining hall this evening, Aqua and Yato have set things up for a group dinner!! All the food is being put on one table; the rest of the room is for mingling and is colorfully decorated in a way that suggests that Yato went wild in the art room at some point and decided what we all really need in our lives is more color and more glitter!!
There's also this piece of paper with everybody's names on it in pairs, and sets of questions (red tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet). That's right, your mystery game is speed-dating and Yato is here to be your cupid for the evening!! ]

[BUT IT FEELS SO AWKWARD WITH SHRIMPDAD HERE...]
It's really surprising how easy it feels to pick it back up, though, isn't it? Well, I'd been cooking routinely when I was back home, but it was only for breakfast.

I should try cookin' around here more. It might help people around here. It's relaxing. Might be nice to try some more food from where you're from, too.

...but really, I'll do my best. Unfortunately, a lot of the ingredients from home aren't really here, and a lot of it is, ah, fermented.
[...his expression kind of wibbles a bit into disgust when he says that, because holy shit, once he didn't actually have to eat fermented shit he stopped immediately]

[.....sounds really gross.]
Sounds like it's somethin' of an acquired taste.

...
Let's just say I was really happy to move somewhere more cosmopolitan.

Creole cookin's pretty good, but I don't know too many recipes, unfortunately. I grew up surrounded by it, but never did learn enough about cooking the food myself.
I guess movin' elsewhere would have its advantages to eat stuff from other cultures.

[he's pretty sure more delicate souls have fainted over it.]
Well, as long as you know the basics, there's nothing wrong with reasonable experimentation, right? It might not be what you remember, but it'll probably be good.

[...it's still probably better than German food, ugh.]
It's not like there's a reason not to experiment, not here, anyway. There's only so much food at any given time.
