We are admittedly not entirely sure what the heck the catgirl is there for, but she's there. Anyway, in the dining hall this evening, Aqua and Yato have set things up for a group dinner!! All the food is being put on one table; the rest of the room is for mingling and is colorfully decorated in a way that suggests that Yato went wild in the art room at some point and decided what we all really need in our lives is more color and more glitter!!

There's also this piece of paper with everybody's names on it in pairs, and sets of questions (red tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet). That's right, your mystery game is speed-dating and Yato is here to be your cupid for the evening!! ]

What I value most in a friendship... it would have to be honesty.

So you prefer people who are genuine, then, rather than, like, someone who just tells you what you want to hear? I can see that. You seem like a very honest person yourself, Aqua.

Exactly. If I can't count on my friends to be honest with me, then I'm not sure how strong that friendship would be.

[ She can't really lie, either, so you hit the nail on the head there. ]

I guess that makes sense...that's something I need to get a little better with, honestly. Not exactly, like, lying, per se, but, um...well, Misa-Misa always puts on a smile even when she doesn't always have to have one, is all! It's just a force of habit. And she's an actress, so...

Is it that you don't want to worry anyone, Misa?

[ Because she knows how that goes. ]

Yeah...I don't really want anyone to know when I'm feeling all that upset, most of the time. I want to make people smile. I can't do that if I'm not smiling too.

[ She pulls Misa into a hug. ]

I know, I know! And I'm here for you too! But Misa-Misa always puts other people before herself! It's just how I've always been.

Well, I don't know if I'd call it a long time...it's only been about a year or so, after all, but, it sure feels longer than that.

I really want to find Kira.

"It feels longer than that..." Does it feel like something you've been missing your whole life, but you didn't know how much you needed it until you were made aware of it?

Your profile did say you liked Kira. But I'm not sure I know anything about them.

Not exactly. It's a bit more like...circumstances happened, and now it's become a bit of a goal of mine. My other long-term goal is marrying Light one day, and that feels a bit more like what you just said! Like he's a piece of me that's been missing for my entire life, my better half...but Kira is different. On the other hand, if it wasn't for Kira, Light and I wouldn't be so close, so...

Like is...well, hmm...how should Misa-Misa define her relationship with Kira...

[ She seems to mull it over for a second. She doesn't want to make Aqua concerned.. ]

In my world, criminals all over have just started dying of heart attacks. No one knows how or why, but, it's way too many to call a coincidence, and impossible for it to be just one person doing something like going all over and killing them on their own. ...So the police are calling it homicide, and they're calling the person or group or whatever responsible "Kira". ...He only goes after criminals, though. And Light's dad is on the police force, and the police are starting to give up...and Misa-Misa has her own reasons for wanting to find out who Kira is, so, Light and I are working together to crack the case.

But I really, really need to find him. It's not easy, though...

You're really in love with him, aren't you? [ She's even more determined now. ] When we escape this place, maybe you should be the one to propose to him.

[ ... She's only half-joking.

More importantly, though.... honestly, Aqua's a little... conflicted about what Misa's told her. She knows Misa is very rigid in her beliefs of justice, if the trials are anything to go by. Still, Kira's going after only criminals, isn't he?

She doesn't voice what she thinks--that what if Kira starts to think anyone who opposes him (the police force, namely) is a criminal who must be eliminated? ]

I'm afraid I don't quite follow, Misa, and I'd like to understand more... how is this Kira supposed to be killing all of these criminals? A heart attack.... it's a strange method of killing someone.

I love him more than anything in the whole world. At first sight, too! I knew it was meant to be right then and there. Misa-Misa really can't wait for you to meet him! But, um...Misa-Misa wants Light to propose, himself. It'll be just like a dream come true! ...It'll probably have to wait until after our whole Kira thing is through, though. Light's really good at investigating, though!

[ She kinda figured that more of an explanation would be needed, in any case, even if all this talk of marrying Light is getting her a bit red in the face. It really would be perfect, but... ]

Honestly, though, that's what everyone would like to know. No one knows how he does it! He doesn't even need to be in the room for it to happen, and it's happening everywhere in the world, too! So it's a bit hard to believe Kira is just one person...but at the same time, it's really hard to investigate it, for just that reason. Normally, a heart attack is a heart attack, but, with so many of them...it's way, way, way too many for people to think it isn't being planned. That's why some people are saying it's, like, divine punishment, or something like that. Personally, Misa-Misa doesn't know about that...Kira is Kira. That's what Misa-Misa thinks.

But the reason I want to meet him is because, well...um, it's a bit of a personal thing, but, Misa-Misa's feelings on Kira are a little complicated. ...There's a big, long story behind it. But if you hear it, you'll understand, Misa-Misa promises.

Responsibility first, marriage later... I admire that. [ Of course she does. ] You know what you need to do, Misa, and I'm glad for that.

[ Aqua listens, nodding. The issue is probably more sophisticated than something so cut-and-dry. It sounds almost like some sort of magic, what Misa is describing... ]

I'd like to hear it sometime. Maybe not tonight, since we do still have a speed dating game to play.

Well, if too much trouble gets in the way of a perfectly good marriage, that wouldn't be fun, right? We have to take care of everything first! But Misa-Misa is definitely, definitely, definitely gonna marry him one day! And you'll be invited to the wedding for sure!
