The day that'd been so longingly awaited since the meeting on Monday by both combatants.

The tables in the dining hall have been pushed to the walls for seating, everyone's had a paper shoved beneath their door alerting to them to the evening event, and anyone who had any business there suddenly does not. Seriously, those papers are like littered everywhere, unless you're not coming there's no way you didn't know there was something tonight.

On one side of the room is Sigrun with her weapon of choice: a pike she got from the vending machine a little bit ago, practicing her handling of it with a grace that remarks upon her life of combat experience, a quiet seriousness to her that's rarely seen. Her focus is on the opponent on the other side, twenty or so feet away, the clinking gears ever rolling.

Colress and Klinklang are also concentrated on what's about to go down, the man talking quietly to his Pokémon, all too ready to show the strength of the creature off to Sigrun. They'd been becoming reused to each other, Colress learning just what his frankly new friend (at least in evolution) could do, since that challenge put forth by the woman, and it's with confidence that the three now face each other, the air heavy with anticipation.

Let's fight.

I feel like it's something that's bound to get her killed here... well, if she's able to be killed. I'm starting to think she's invincible.

Somehow I can't see her getting killed. Killing, maybe.

She's been pretty unfazed by the incentives so far though. [ Hmmm. ] She's also really dedicated to being a good leader... I don't know if she'd go through with it.

Do you think she'd confess before we even had a trial? [ She seems like the type, right? Honorable and cool. ]

That or trial by combat.

Probably that. She'd be one tough customer, at any rate.

You really like her, huh?

[penduli]

She reminds me a lot of my mom, so I can't really help it.

[garudynamic]

[Well that solves that. He looks a little thoughtful, stealing more popcorn]

You weren't thinking it was something else, were you?

[He makes a vague 'i dunno?' noise, eating more to avoid having to say either way]

She's dating someone anyway, so even if I were interested nothing would happen.

Look man, I'm not necessarily saying that- just that I wouldn't blame you if you did.

And wait, she is? Someone back home?

[ DON'T TALK THAT WAY ABOUT SIGRUN... ]

She didn't even realize it until she was explaining what dating meant to her.

Sounds about right. Though wow... Mettaton, huh? That makes weird sense.

[penduli]

It does.

[ Even if... he still doesn't see how anyone could honestly find him attractive... Interspecies romance isn't weird to him (anymore), but still. He'd be horrible to sleep with. ]

They're the only ones who can keep up with each other [ anymore, since the other two that could've are... dead...... ] too. And I mean, her definition wasn't wrong, so it's not like I could correct her...

Yeah, like I'm not gonna think too hard about how all that.... works. But they are both pretty over the top.

[ How what all works, Yosuke, Mettaton's a robot. He's like a talking dildo or something. ]

They don't have a single bad word about each other too, as far as I know. Miss Sigrun even told me that my relationship goal should be her and Mettaton.

[There's no overt bitterness in his words, just a shrug]

No relationship is perfect. Not even just, you know, dating.

My parents were pretty perfect together, as least as much as I remember. Could've been different when they were just dating, though--hmm. [ ...hmmmm. ] They've been working together for as long as I can remember, and they probably met through working on the same cases, too, so maybe they have just always gotten along.

My parents are kinda that way too. They're really in sync, especially at work. I think that's from being together a long time?
