People who hold no importance to themselves can't move when there's danger. They're consumed by thoughts that they're better off dead anyway. There's nothing they can do for others but die. That's all they think of themselves as. So if it means that the others get away, they won't have a second thought about being eaten alive by trolls. Seems noble, actually really stupid. Everyone's got a purpose.

I'm the most important person to myself, so I'll move when I'm in danger. I'll distract anything I need to so others can get away. If that ends up in my death then that's how things are, it's a risk I take, but it's not like I'm actively trying to seek it out. It's just something I'll do because there are others around who need me and that are important enough that I'd risk it.
