"Sacrificial has been taken from you. Maybe this time the guilty party is going to actually succeed at Rule Seven - but of course, whether they manage it is still up to the rest of you." Eleven Survivors remain. How many are still standing by the end of the day is up to you.

You're making assumptions about what does and doesn't work. [ Because in the wake of a magical notebook that kills people, that seems faulty. But if he asked the Kingmaker, that's still not really working with him is it. (at least not in the long term).]

There's no part of the device that tracks time.

It doesn't necessarily need to track time in that manner. The dials on the radio could be easily be modified as a stand in.
