Welcome.
You wake with the unshakable feeling that you shouldn't be here. Perhaps you were in the middle of something, perhaps you weren't. Either way, you're waking up in an unfamiliar location with no recollection of how you got here. The room you've woken up in is sparsely-decorated, though that might be difficult to tell at first given how nice the beds are...but eventually you'll notice a few things that are a little...off. Maybe the scent is striking you wrong - it's clean, but it's not yours. Maybe your bed back home doesn't support your back in quite this way. Maybe you should be seeing sunlight through your window by now. Maybe you should have a window in the first place. This isn't right, but leaving the room won't give you any more answers. You might want to grab the silver key sitting on your trunk on the way out. Don't worry though, you aren't all alone here. Once you step outside your room into the hallway, you'll notice that a few others are emerging from their rooms as well. It looks like they're just as confused and concerned as you are. Feel free to talk to them, but none of you know how exactly you wound up here and maybe some useful information can be found by exploring. If you follow the hallway to its end (and it's a very long hallway), you'll eventually arrive in the foyer. You'll find some very interesting information about yourselves on the wall near the clock. Perhaps even more importantly, if you look on the other side of the multi-pendulumed thing, you'll find other framed information that you might want to pay attention to. It could very well be the key to escaping this strange place, after all. Don't worry if you forget the rules, you can find them in every room of the building. Of course, search as you might, you won't find a doorway or a window of any sort. Getting out won't be so easy, it seems. But who knows? Perhaps your fellow captives have something to say about all of this. Welcome to Chronos University. |

Or you resign.
Chief Bogo's ultimatum rings in Judy's ears as her eyes snap open, her heart hammering in her chest like she'd just run a marathon. And with good reason...the last thing she remembers is being given a deadline to solve a case, lest she lose the job she's worked so hard to get altogether. But seeing how the last thing she remembers was leaving Bogo's office...it leads her to believe that maybe it was just all a nightmare.
But this isn't her bed. In fact, this isn't even her room at Grand Pangolin Arms. Not unless she was upgraded and also unconscious for it.
After sitting up in her...frankly massive bed, Judy first takes stock of where she is while waiting for her heart-rate to slow. Her ears swivel in every direction, taking in the sounds of movement in rooms outside, as well as the hallway, leading her to believe she isn't alone. But where...is here? Everything in here is sized for an animal much, much larger than she is, and the lack of windows is concerning. The only way she's going to find out anything is to get out of here. So with that in mind, she carefully stands up and walks to the edge of the bed, moving to swing her legs around and lower herself to the ground-
...only to let out a sharp exclamation, grabbing the bedpost with both arms unable to reach all the way around it as she nearly drops the full three feet to the ground like a rock. With a huff, she shimmies around the post and uses that to slide down safely, only to find an even more frustrating challenge with the door. But it's fine...she just has to take an extra step by climbing onto the trunk, then her desk so she can jump off it and grab the doorhandle and get it open, all after grabbing her key, of course.
By the time Judy finally makes it out of her room, she's slightly breathless and met with the most bizarre sight she's ever witnessed in her entire life that causes her to scurry back into her room so she can peer out through the crack in the door. Others have already started leaving their rooms before her, and...they aren't any animals she's ever seen. Furless, hairless, about as tall as your average tiger or cheetah standing up. It's bizarre, but more than that it's frightening. But she's a police officer now. Whatever in mammoth's name is going on here, she'll figure it out.
The foyer is her first destination as she uses both her size and speed to (hopefully) skirt past people unnoticed, but once she's discovered the profiles and rules and skids to a halt to read them, she'll be impossible to miss and...boy. Hopping mad (pun intended) doesn't even begin to describe this little bunny currently as she mutters to herself.]
Profiles on thirty individuals, accurate information going off my own...and these rules. Rule 6: "Violence against other Apprentices is permitted, with no particular restrictions on your actions." ...And then, Rule 7: "The death of an Apprentice has potential to end the course; should an Apprentice wish to terminate the course early, they have only to ensure that someone dies without the guilty party being discovered."
What is this?
[It's about that time that Judy decides enough is enough and it's time to put her experience where her mouth is, wariness about the other people here with her or not. This is slowly starting to look like a kidnapping situation and she's got a responsibility to get to the bottom of it.
So what you'll see here is definitely a little grey bunny wearing a police officer's uniform, badge and all. And she's calling up to you right now, waving a paw to try to get your attention if you haven't seen her by now-]
Hello? Excuse me, down here! Officer Judy Hopps, ZPD. I'd- [She briefly pats herself down, but when she discovers her pen and pad of paper are missing, she slowly brings her paws back together and continues.] -Iiiii'd like to ask you a few questions! I need some information from the other....others here, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
[Yes. She talks.]

What's unusual is the fact that she looks and talks like a police officer. The last time Watanuki checked, animal spirits had very little interest in the human world. Most were disgusted by it, actually. So why would one be acting like a cop? The spirit world didn't have cops.
...did it?
Regardless, Watanuki is left staring down at her for a moment, his mouth open slightly like he was going to say something, but then the thought had died before it had even been put to sound. He looks between Judy and the rules in question a couple of times before he finally finds his voice and is able to answer her.]
I, er...
Okay?
[He might as well listen to her questions and see if he can answer them. Unlike Yuuko, he's not going to demand that someone pays the price for a little bit of information.]

well, he's going to do the second thing and crouch to her level, because that's not rude at all.]
What's up, floppy? Need help openin' a door or somethin' like that?
[Not rude at allll.]
no subject
Gold is the second person to crouch to talk to her, and while that's not immediately a point against him, what he says is.
Her ears go ramrod straight and swivel forward to face Gold directly as her expression flattens a bit.]
Sir, this is serious. I am trying to run an investigation here, and I need to gather as much information as I can if I am to find out anything about what is going on here. So no, I do not need help opening a door or else I wouldn't be standing here talking to you. I just need you to answer some questions for me.
[She folds her arms over her chest.]

And here I thought I'd never meet anyone smaller than me. [Varric chuckled again, before holding out a hand.] Varric Tethras. What can I do for you?
no subject
[Judy is actually quite surprised by the gesture, seeing how he's the first to actually offer anything of the sort in greeting that wasn't condescending or simple cooperation. Admittedly she's...still a bit frightened by these people on the inside, but it'd be rude not to.
She stands up on her tiptoes, reaching up to carefully take hold of Varric's hand with a furry paw. ...one of his fingers, to be more precise. Then she comes back down to the floor, gesturing to the profiles and rules above.]

Oh, no, this is nothing she was expecting at all. Granted, she is not sure what she's been expecting anyway, but she smiles as warmly as she can manage (it's not really working, it's a little more awkward than it needs to be) and crosses her arms; her wrist problem is hidden, thanks impromptu pillowcase bracelet, but she still feels like she needs to hide it more.
Because she shouldn't have it and she has no idea what to think of it, ahaha?? She similarly has no idea what to think of talking bunny police officer, there isn't even this weird of stuff in the land of the dead. ]
I don't know how much help I'll be, but all right. Ask away, Officer.

Were these the kinds of things that existed in her homeland? Because there are definitely none she's seen in Hinamizawa. A talking rabbit, she's baffled but instantly charmed. She's never seen a wild rabbit before, but one of the village elders has one as a pet, she's always wanted to- just kind of touch its fluffy head--
AHEM] Y-yes, ma'am, how can I be of assistance to you?
