Trustfell 4: Trust Fall or Die Hard ([personal profile] trustwellness) wrote in [community profile] trusthell2017-02-05 11:51 am

WEEK 3.

WEEK 3

As the second week draws to a close, two more have joined the deceased. Christo and Alani are dead, leaving twenty-six of you remaining.

It may not seem like very many have died, but their absence will certainly be felt.

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Just like last week, a door in the stairwell has opened, leading you down further into the building; there are more rooms open to you down there - possibly even one that you'll find personally interesting.

Go ahead and explore all you like; after all, you did well at completing your lessons this past week.

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

[Phi is in here surprisingly often, considering. Down go the cards.]

Oh, hello. Looks like that was just wrapping up, huh?
quadruples: (LISTEN ♡ what are you talking about)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-08 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hello, Phi. [ He smiles warmly at her. ]

There's something oddly satisfying about deliberately destroying a card house. All that work, gone in an instant...
plentyfriendly: (phi$ man -k axiom)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-08 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
That makes some sense. When you choose to pull it apart, you're done with it.

[Finishing things always feels good.]
quadruples: (♡ laugh.)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-08 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. And nobody else gets to ruin your work.

[ When you accidentally make it collapse or somebody else does it, it's no fun. ]

Want to play a game with me?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ man -k axiom)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-08 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure. What do you have in mind?
quadruples: (CHINTOUCH ♡ :))

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-08 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you know how to play Durak? It's a popular card game in Russia.
plentyfriendly: (phi$ sort ominous_message)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-09 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
I've never heard of it. Go ahead, enlighten me.
quadruples: (SIDE ♡ yuuri are you shy)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-09 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
In Durak, the objective of the game is to get rid of all your cards, and the last player with cards in their hand is the durak; that's the Russian word for fool.

[ And he'll start explaining how to play, but we're probably better off handwaving the actual game so you don't have to actually read all that. ]
plentyfriendly: (phi$ ls self)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-10 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
So it's a little like War crossed with Uno? Sounds simple enough.

[Phi appears to be getting a little unlucky.]

I wonder why remove the 2s through 5s, though...
quadruples: (THOUGHT ♡ a bathtub is a reverse boat)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-10 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Good question. I have no idea where that part of the setup comes from...
plentyfriendly: (phi$ grep -a solve pzldb)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-10 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I might have to look it up once we get out of here.
quadruples: (THOUGHT ♡ we're all half centaur)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-11 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Good idea. The answer's probably on Wikipedia or something.
plentyfriendly: (phi$ make escape_plan)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-11 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I'd trust it unless it cited a source...

[That's half the point of Wikipedia, thanks public education system.]
quadruples: (♡ 199)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-11 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
So Wikipedia's still full of unverified info in the future? Some things never change.

[ ... ]

How is 2028, anyway? Any cool tech I should look forward to?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ cd d-team)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-11 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
There's a few things... For one thing, antimatter reactors have been developed.

[That's something.]
quadruples: (♡ 206)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-11 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's amazing. Are they more efficient than nuclear reactors?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ worry)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-11 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Donno. Most people don't really know much about them, other than that they exist.

[They'll keep going for quite some time, though! It's impressive.]
quadruples: (♡ 197)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-11 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ahh, I see. Sounds complicated. What do things like phones and computers look like? Is Apple still releasing new iPhones every year?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ jest)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-11 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Apple's been doing less well since they stopped innovating. Around the iPhone 8, people started realizing they were focusing on that and leaving OSX in the dust.

I prefer Linux myself, though.
quadruples: (♡ 201)

[personal profile] quadruples 2017-02-11 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
What a shame. I've been an Apple user for several years now; I love their products. [ He pauses to think about what he wants to ask next. ]

Are self-driving cars mainstream yet?

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-11 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
They've still been having issues with construction zones and road closures.

[For ten years!]
