Week 3.

WEEK 3 Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept... Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. [Stan sounds intrigued by the idea - it's not a bad one.]

If not 'im, there might have been a group here from something. This place looks pretty old.

Kinda seems a little much for a bunker, doesn't it? Most of those things were pretty small.

[Stan takes a few boxes to look as well. It's an interesting proposition.]

Maybe it's some kinda secret research facility.

Ugh, sounds like federal stuff.

Maybe he just found this place somewhere. Did he ever actually say he built it?

I don't think so, but I have a feelin' that's gonna be the ticket to figuring this all out.

Okay. So we got a shitty concrete building with no windows. What kinda stuff would ya build that for?

[He lets the question hang in the air for a moment.]

If it's a real bunker, I don't get why there's two laundry rooms.

Maybe the first floor one is something that was designed after the fact?

I don't know, that's a good question.

They would've needed the piping and all that stuff. You can't just take a room that's already there and make it a laundry room, not without tearin' everything up.

This house I'm stayin' at-- they have pipes and a faucet 'n all that in their barn.

I figure it could be something like that. Some washroom or something. It's not like there's any electrical plugs in it.

Yeah, I guess. Would've made more sense to have the laundry down by the bedrooms anyway. But I'm sure we'd rather all schlep upstairs than do it by hand.

Hand-washing everything was a pain in the ass.

I wouldn't know, I just had the doc doin' mine. [Stan laughs.] Nice guy!

It's not that bad, though. Just kind of a pain in the ass.

It's fine for you spring chickens. Doin' normal laundry's enough to get my back goin', I don't need to be leanin' over a washboard like it's Pioneer Day.

I doubt my uncle Wolfgang could have dealt with somethin' like that-- the castle has plumbing.

Wow, even old fallin' down castles are better than this place. Big surprise.

...This place is kind of a shithole.

I'm not sure we'll get a reasonable explanation for why we were brought here.

Oh, I know why. The Kingmaker's a sicko who likes watchin' people die.
