Week 4.

WEEK 4

And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not...

Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do.

bloodisthicker: this is my likable face (here's lookin' at you kid)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-20 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
...

[...you know what? it's been a rough couple days, and they just got a bar.]

...sure, I'll bite. What is it?
uro_cyon: (Rᴏʟᴇ Mᴏᴅᴇʟ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-20 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
How well do you hold your liquor, councilman? [ Because it pretty much looks like what it is. A game where you drink until someone gives up...or passes out.

Yeah, Aiden knows the best way to spend his free time.]
bloodisthicker: like liquid snake except sadder (did you like my sunglasses brother)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-21 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
...you know... I rarely, if ever, overindulge, but... we'll see. Though, I have to say, I do have a concern or two about Rule 3.
uro_cyon: (Tʜᴀɴᴋs Fᴏʀ Tʜᴇ Tɪᴘ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-21 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Fair enough. We can just drink until we say stupid things then. [ Nowhere near the limit, hopefully.]
bloodisthicker: punched any equalists lately (so how you doin')

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-22 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Right, let's do it, then.

[and he'll sit down!]

I assume you'll do the pouring, then?
uro_cyon: (Lᴇᴛ's Pʟᴀʏ Mᴀᴋᴇ A Dᴇᴀʟ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-22 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, my treat. [ He pours out a shot's full for both of them, before lifting up his glass with a nod. It's readily apparent with how easy and fast the shot goes down, that he does this fairly often.]

Your up.

But you can ask me something after you take yours, and we'll take turns that way.
bloodisthicker: because that would be the worst (did i break a nail)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-22 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
...so it's like that little truth or dare party for actual adults, then.

[...this isn't necessarily the kind of thing he wants to mess around with today, but... on the other hand, if he feels like he's reaching the point where inhibitions are going south, it might just be time to start saying stupid shit.

Hopefully he'll... have the judgment to accomplish that, but this is just the beginning. DOWN THE HATCH wow that stuff has a kick, doesn't it, he can kind of feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. Alright. Let's start... small.]

...so, what are cars like where you're from, then?
uro_cyon: (Bʀᴇᴀᴅᴄʀᴜᴍʙs)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-22 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Usually there's money involved too, but our currency here is kind of limited. [ So many bracelets.]

As opposed to...? [ But he shrugs and continues talking as he remembers Speedwagon.] They drive on the road, or off-road if that's more your thing. They don't fly or swim if you're wondering about that. [ Doing his best to remember what cartoon cars did in the shows Jacks watched.]

Some can go pretty fast though, those are my type of cars. [ He pours another round out for them both, waiting on Tarlok to see if that was the kind of answer he was looking for.]
bloodisthicker: AND A SATOMOBILE (I'LL BUY YOU A POODLEPONY)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-22 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
...yes, I'm sure you wouldn't want me betting that confusing chocolate chip jerky here, would you.

[...oh, hang on, he was probably being confusing there...]

...Oh, right, I should have mentioned that I actually do know what cars are, they're just more of a recent invention where I'm from. From talking to people I've met here, I'm guessing that the majority people are a few decades or so down the line technologically from where I am, so I figured it'd be fun to get a taste of the future.

I've been wanting to get one of the fancier Satomobiles that are apparently supposed to hit a higher speed than the standard model for a while now, but I haven't caved yet.
uro_cyon: (Pʟᴀɴᴛɪɴɢ A Bᴜɢ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-23 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Just going to deadpan for a second-- chocolate chip what? But moving on:]

Cars by me can hit upwards of 250 MPH, though you'd be hard pressed to find a space to do that in Chicago. [Still, there were drag races.

Now that the questions been answered, he takes the second shot with a satisfied sigh.]

My turn. Got any family?
bloodisthicker: instrumentality hooooo (let's gendo ikari this shit)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-24 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
[...impressed whistle...]

I know the Future Industries heiress has a soft spot for race cars, but I couldn't exactly give you the specs. Of course, it's not like she has to worry about finding a place to hit max speed, since she... basically has a test track in her backyard.

[...oh uh that one, ha ha... haha... ha.]

...Not anymore, unfortunately.
uro_cyon: (Tᴏᴏʟs Oғ Tʜᴇ Tʀᴀᴅᴇ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-24 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Convenient.

[There's a flicker of something when Tarrlok answers, but it's gone in a second.]

That's unfortunate.
bloodisthicker: this is my likable face (here's lookin' at you kid)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-25 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Even I can get a little jealous of people.

[...well, even a guy like Tarrlok can figure out not to pick at old wounds. It's not advantageous at all right now!]

...Well, life's hard up north, and I was pretty young for two of them. I'd say I've had enough time to get over it.

[...there might be something about his eyes when he says that which would imply that no, he hasn't, but it's probably just the lighting.]
uro_cyon: (Hᴏᴘᴇ Is A Sᴀᴅ Tʜɪɴɢ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-25 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[If there's one thing Aiden doesn't like to press on much, it's the matter of family.]

What's it like where you're from, anyway?
bloodisthicker: could have bloodbended you all but i didn't (god i'm such a great guy)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-25 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I spent most of my life up towards the North Pole, which is... mostly just cold, honestly. There's some interesting political drama every so often, but I didn't get in on that until I left my podunk town to study in the capitol. Everyone's... honestly kind of set in their ways, and the current Chief is extremely big on spirituality.

I'm more about earthly matters, though, so I kind of jumped at the chance to work in Republic City. That definitely is a place, alright...

...but wait, shouldn't I ask you another question before I start talking about that?
uro_cyon: (Rᴏʟᴇ Mᴏᴅᴇʟ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-25 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You should, but I guess I got most of my answer. [ He just looks a bit satisfied with himself. But all that information is interesting even if he didn't get the whole picture.]
bloodisthicker: instrumentality hooooo (let's gendo ikari this shit)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-26 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
...ha, you did.

[...maybe he got a little careless there. He should definitely reign himself in from here on out, so...

TAKE A SHOT.]

...so, what is it that you do, exactly? 'Vigilante' isn't exactly illuminating, and while I'm sure you wouldn't want to go into too much detail... I'm sure you can say something, can't you?
uro_cyon: (Oᴘᴇɴ Yᴏᴜʀ Wᴏʀʟᴅ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-26 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not Batman, if that's what you're thinking. [ But Tarrlok's right, he really should give him a better answer than that.]

I deal with what the law doesn't notice, or doesn't want to. Things they're inclined to look the other way at. Less of a profession and more of a hobby.
bloodisthicker: you douche (you have ruffled my collar)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-27 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
...I... wasn't exactly thinking that, no.

[what the fuck is a batman.]

And honestly... if you don't have anyone who does care about that sort of thing, that's really all you can do, isn't it? When the people in power aren't willing to take action, someone has to.
uro_cyon: (Bᴀᴄᴋsᴇᴀᴛ Dʀɪᴠᴇʀ)

[personal profile] uro_cyon 2016-03-27 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's surprising to hear from someone in a position of power.
bloodisthicker: it never fails. (i saw it in my coffee.)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-04-03 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Well, desperate times call for desperate measures, don't they? I can't say I'd approve of vigilantes in my city, mind, but that's because... well, it's better to coordinate than to work independently of each other if you want to accomplish things. Otherwise, you run the risk of making a difficult job even more complicated than it really should be.

If there's no one really suited to the job in power, though, then all bets are off.
