Week 4.
And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 20 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]

[...you know what? it's been a rough couple days, and they just got a bar.]
...sure, I'll bite. What is it?
no subject
Yeah, Aiden knows the best way to spend his free time.]

[and he'll sit down!]
I assume you'll do the pouring, then?
no subject
Your up.
But you can ask me something after you take yours, and we'll take turns that way.

[...this isn't necessarily the kind of thing he wants to mess around with today, but... on the other hand, if he feels like he's reaching the point where inhibitions are going south, it might just be time to start saying stupid shit.
Hopefully he'll... have the judgment to accomplish that, but this is just the beginning. DOWN THE HATCH wow that stuff has a kick, doesn't it, he can kind of feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. Alright. Let's start... small.]
...so, what are cars like where you're from, then?
no subject
As opposed to...? [ But he shrugs and continues talking as he remembers Speedwagon.] They drive on the road, or off-road if that's more your thing. They don't fly or swim if you're wondering about that. [ Doing his best to remember what cartoon cars did in the shows Jacks watched.]
Some can go pretty fast though, those are my type of cars. [ He pours another round out for them both, waiting on Tarlok to see if that was the kind of answer he was looking for.]
no subject
[...oh, hang on, he was probably being confusing there...]
...Oh, right, I should have mentioned that I actually do know what cars are, they're just more of a recent invention where I'm from. From talking to people I've met here, I'm guessing that the majority people are a few decades or so down the line technologically from where I am, so I figured it'd be fun to get a taste of the future.
I've been wanting to get one of the fancier Satomobiles that are apparently supposed to hit a higher speed than the standard model for a while now, but I haven't caved yet.
no subject
Cars by me can hit upwards of 250 MPH, though you'd be hard pressed to find a space to do that in Chicago. [Still, there were drag races.
Now that the questions been answered, he takes the second shot with a satisfied sigh.]
My turn. Got any family?
no subject
I know the Future Industries heiress has a soft spot for race cars, but I couldn't exactly give you the specs. Of course, it's not like she has to worry about finding a place to hit max speed, since she... basically has a test track in her backyard.
[...oh uh that one, ha ha... haha... ha.]
...Not anymore, unfortunately.
no subject
[There's a flicker of something when Tarrlok answers, but it's gone in a second.]
That's unfortunate.
no subject
[...well, even a guy like Tarrlok can figure out not to pick at old wounds. It's not advantageous at all right now!]
...Well, life's hard up north, and I was pretty young for two of them. I'd say I've had enough time to get over it.
[...there might be something about his eyes when he says that which would imply that no, he hasn't, but it's probably just the lighting.]
no subject
What's it like where you're from, anyway?
no subject
I'm more about earthly matters, though, so I kind of jumped at the chance to work in Republic City. That definitely is a place, alright...
...but wait, shouldn't I ask you another question before I start talking about that?
no subject
no subject
[...maybe he got a little careless there. He should definitely reign himself in from here on out, so...
TAKE A SHOT.]
...so, what is it that you do, exactly? 'Vigilante' isn't exactly illuminating, and while I'm sure you wouldn't want to go into too much detail... I'm sure you can say something, can't you?
no subject
I deal with what the law doesn't notice, or doesn't want to. Things they're inclined to look the other way at. Less of a profession and more of a hobby.
no subject
[what the fuck is a batman.]
And honestly... if you don't have anyone who does care about that sort of thing, that's really all you can do, isn't it? When the people in power aren't willing to take action, someone has to.

If there's no one really suited to the job in power, though, then all bets are off.
