Week 4.
And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 20 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]
MONDAY
Retaliation
However.
Anyone making their way up to the third floor will notice the heavy scent of blood coming from the game room in particular; anyone investigating will see...well.
It's a lot of blood. Pretty much an entire human's worth of blood, actually.
It's not just limited to the floor, either - some of it's hit the nearby walls in the corner where the apparent incident happened; the odd thing is the pattern. It's radiating outward, as though something (someone) had simply exploded in there. There wasn't any sort of noise the night before to indicate that having been the case, granted, but from appearances alone that's all that really can be determined - somebody was there, and then somebody was everywhere, and whatever caused it was both spontaneous and bizarrely silent.
One of the tables nearest the door seems to have been largely untouched; there's a pair of goggles set up on it, the lenses spattered with blood. Next to them is a note, pinned to the table with one of the butterfly knives from the machine, the blade slammed into the table at a perpendicular angle.
The conclusion is obvious; doing a headcount among the rest of you will confirm it.
Taichi Yagami is dead.
As for the note? It's handwritten, though the writing doesn't match anyone's that's currently in the Vault. The message on it is brief and simple:
DON'T SLEEP OUTSIDE THE DORMS.]
Re: Retaliation
Instead he finds a massacre.
Mouri takes just long enough to check the evidence around. Taichi, he seemed like a good kid. He...made a mistake, if the note is correct. Mouri leaves everything untouched and stands outside, pale and clenching his fists.
This was absolutely gruesome.
If you are approaching the Game Room you'll find Mouri beside the door]
Hey! Don't go in! Save yourself the trouble.
[Yeah, that's all he's going to be doing for a few hours, other than ineffectively texting the Kingmaker without receiving an answer. If you ask he'll offer you a summary of what he thinks happened and hope that's enough.
Nobody should ingrain in their minds that ugly scene]

No breakfast just yet, he wanted to get the measurement of the space so he could sketch something out while he ate.
...
He almost walks right past Mouri, only to be stopped by the detective. But it's not enough for him not to see the gore. And to see the goggles.

He just stares, eye blown open to the point there's only a thin ring of brown left.]

Not that he knows about it yet. He's just moving down the hall when he stops and notices Mouri at the door. It's not enough that he could smell something in the air, but the detective stopping him makes the tension that more noticeable.]

[It's as much a question as an acknowledgement that Mouri's there, the "what the hell happened" is obvious from his tone.
It's obvious that Mouri's trying to keep people out for a reason, so he'll stop before he can really see what's going on; no sense in doing something stupid before he knows why it's stupid, after all.]

Sometimes, you've gotta make a statement. You have to look inside yourself and say WHAT AM I PREPARED TO DEAL WITH TODAY? NOT FUCKING THIS.
...and then you ignore that statement and prepare to investigate anyway. Tarrlok tries to avoid stepping in the amazingly large amounts of blood to get over to the only thing resembling a weapon here, which is the knife pinning the note to the table, and just...

Taichi was his age. And had done something he had almost done barely more then 24 hours ago.
His entire body is shaking, but at least he isn't screaming or crying yet. Yet. And he doesn't WANT to, after yesterday. So when he, in a daze, walks past the Bar he meanders his way inside.
And eventually, when people start going places after investigating the mess, someone might eventually find him there, trying his damnedest to get his drink-virgin, less-the-130-lbs self as drunk as possible]

[Cherryblod had a feeling some people would be drinking the pain away. He only took a glance himself, but... ugh.
He was really hoping one of those people wouldn't be Yosuke.]
Doubt the Kingmaker distinguishes between sleep and drinking yourself to unconsciousness either.

MEETING...?, the 999 strikes back
For a good while Bruce does his best to clean up the mess the Game Room as much as he can, though blood is hard to get off in general and there's probably going to be a mark no matter how he tries. Or maybe not, considering...
Well.
After 1pm Bruce decides that he's done as much as he can for the game room and moves on to the weekly agenda... which he really isn't up for still but considering what happened, is most likely the best course of action. So while much later than usual there is the weekly call for their usual Monday meeting duct taped to its usual spot, requesting anybody who wants to meet to come at seven pm at the dining hall. Also, dinner will be provided.
Bruce spends the afternoon in the Kitchen then to make said dinner, which happens to be some vegetarian fare and other light finger food since he figures nobody is up for meat after what happened. Everything is cooked and served at 7pm sharp for everyone else who comes to take as they want.
Once everyone is settled, Bruce promptly begins the meeting.]
We all saw what happened earlier. As terrible as it is, we should probably talk about what we've seen - along with anything else that comes with the new floor that's appeared too, and anything else you might wish to address.
...private conversations can happen after this meeting is over.
[Just as always now Bruce has his notebook out and a pen ready to take notes; notes that he'll be looking through after the meeting is done. He's still in the dining hall, and it doesn't seem like he's going to be leaving anytime soon.]

It's obvious what happened to him, but how is the real question.

REQUEST LIST...???
Anyone who wants to know anything or whatever from the Kingmaker just tell me and I'll mark it down. Since I'm obviously the best negotiator here.
[Notably, what's already on there is:
- Stairs?
- Goggles go boom
- Favorite music
Listen. She likes learning about him.]
I'm gonna talk to him again anyway so. You know. Might as well.

These are, ah...very minor points of interest compared to what happened earlier, but I feel they are worth bringing up nevertheless.
One: Aqua and I have put together a list for all of the chemicals that can be found in the storage room on the third floor. It can be found near the sign-out sheet on the door. I have also considered possibly attempting to dispose of them, though I haven't had a chance to test whether or not they are too corrosive for the pipes. I will keep you all updated on that endeavor.
And two: I thought you all might be interested to know that Aqua recently recovered one of my Pokemon from the vending machine. In other words...whether it was the Kingmaker's intention or not, he brought along at least one other "survivor" of sorts here with us.

Like always, in the morning, Sigrun can first be found in the music room with her lyre, playing a particular song some may recognize from Mettaton's attempts at it on the inferior ukulele and... trying out a few of the other instruments with varying successes.
Woodwinds tend to be fine, if simply played.
Brass, on the other hand, is a genuinely loud wreck.
The noisepress (See: piano) is kind of fun though. Less crash-crash-boom and more like just tapping the notes loudly.
... Once Sigrun realizes the meeting is later rather than around their usual, she takes time for some lunch because really, old habits die hard. Man.
Until the meeting comes around she is going to enjoy the shooting gallery with all her might! Admittedly she sees where the guns would be and is quite disappointed there is none there, but it's not like she's particularly rusty with a crossbow... as her deadly precision will show that off just fine, thank you.
Bulls-eyes have never been more satisfying to someone that's been worried about her skills getting rusty.]

Shooting Gallery
[Today Mouri doesn't drink, so he is willing to go around. He was going to check the shooting gallery further when he found Sigrun]
Just as expected from somebody with military training.
[Mouri goes straight to take a crossbow too. It is not a gun but maybe it works well enough, once he deduces how crossbows work]

Later on in the afternoon and before the meeting, he can be found lying his head to the side, on top of a watercolor painting of the night sky in the art room. His eyes are closed... things considered this is probably a bad thing to do so soon after the KM's ominous notice, but he's far from actually drifting off, don't you worry. ]
